I still have the ie8 installed although I only use firefox. Do you think that it is "recommended" to install ie9? Last ie I used was the 6... |

IE9 is much faster as the old versions. Faster Engine, Faster Javascript Engine and if you have Vista SP2 or higher and a compatible Graphics-card it uses GPU-Acceleration (Direct2D, Directwrite). On my system i clearly see the improvements within XMM which uses the IE-Browser-Engine. |

Since this version I have problems after clicking the cover. It lasts about 5 to 8 seconds to show another movie card. After that every new card is within a second visible - until I show a cover again. Showing the cover itself needs no more time as far as I can remember. |

Very strange. No Problems at all here.
Have you tested to deactivate the CSS in the html file? Just to make sure the problem isn't something else.

No, as I was still busy with updating all movies with new imdb awards (fortunately done now :)) But I have just tested it. It's NOT this function. I have tested all cards that I have still in my folder and it seems to be caused by opening a new IE window. The NewCard doesn't show this behaviour and the DefaultHTMLCard neither. I need about 4 secs to open every new window (the one for the award list, too) and about half the time longer to close it again. This problem occurs ONLY with XMM! |

Sounds to me like a Javascript Engine Problem. I didn't change anything else besides the new Awards and the one CSS Line.
I remember the the ie9 preview had a problem just like that. It was a javascript engine bug. Maybe some other IE Versions still have this bug... Did you install any IE update? |

I have all IE8 with all updates installed although I only use FireFox. But Javascript? I have no problems except on OpenNewWindow in XMM. It's Oracle Java Version 6, Update 24. |

I only know that ie9 preview had a javascript engine bug that some window commands like close took a few seconds before there were executed. Because of that bug i was reluctant to install ie9, but in the release version it's gone. In ie8 i never had this problem, but i using a different os...
The thing is why do have this problem suddenly...
And just to remind you: Javascript and Java are two completely different things. |

Hmmm, I have a fresh XP installation (from January) without any installed crap like on my old pc. As I don't often open a cover in XMM so I don't know since when the problem exists. As said with the DefaultCard and it's lightbox.js there were no problems (even with the size/aspect). And I know that Javascript isn't identical to Java. But I don't know if there are any different versions... |

Maybe your pc is simply underpowered or your hdd fragmented, not enough ram... For opening a window this way a real IE process has to be started and closed. For a lightbox.js window this is not the case. |

4 GB RAM (under XP-SP3) - Athlon QuadCore - 4 unfragmented (new) SATA HDDs... I don't think that the pc is underpowered. It's really only a XMM related problem. |
