Hello Mondriaan,

What kind of file have you link? I mean, have you the "reader" software to open it?

Basically XBM just try to open it with the default software in windows.

Please let me know,

Ale

I have add about 5 pdf files now, 1 of these files do not open in your program but opens when i click in my windows explorer fine, in your program i get only the EBM directory, the other pdf files do open fine in your program.

OK, please check if the File is saved correctly inside XBM. Just edit the Book, go in File Section and take a look if the Link is correct.

Please let me know!

Thank you!

I do have the same problem, XBM is not opening the files itself with the correct app (I use pdfxchenge viewer for pdf's) but instead opens the Edit window

Thanks for your reply, the problem still exists even after updates, but there's no reaction, and if, we are socalled responsible for something we don't do wrong so i think the solution will not be given by EBM.

Hello Guys,

I am not able to reproduce the error, this is the problem. I have try with several files but everything works in my PC.

XBM simply "launch" the file to open, so its windows itself that manage what software to use to open the file.

I will keep trying but really don't know where the problem can be.

Alessio,

I have removed everything attached to pdf's from my computer, cleaned the registry etc. Then I put SumatraPDF viewer on my computer (simple exe file of ~1.5MB) and associated pdf's with it. All pdf's open w/o any problems in Sumatra, however they still behave not correctly when started from w/in XBM.
The path filename etc is all correct. For test purpose I made a new database w/1 book to see if it still happens, and yes it does. I attach a screenshot of the Edit Book dialogue in XBM for the path and it it seems that there should be an entry under Type. Whether or not that is the problem I have no clue but this is frustrating to me.

Another thing is that XBM doesn't show any pictures for some books in a series even though others from the same have cover pics.

Hello Alessio, same problem at the file in question, now no txt file, .chm or lit file opens anymore (it seems it tries but closes again, .txt, .chm and .lit files open normally when explored in windows, i had no lot of time to test but it might be possible that pdf is no problem anymore.

I just tried with XBM 1.0.1.6 and XBM would not open an pdf file, neither by clicking on the link nor by right clicking and choosing open. The Open dialog only opens the XBM install directory. The file path to the pdf is correct.
