First I am so glad I came across your program. Exactly what I was looking for and the price was enough for me to pay for it before I have fully understood the program (which is a first). When I've been playing around with it today, I notice that one of my favorite sites "Allmovie.com" has a script but I keep getting a script error everytime I run it. The error is:

Can't Find The Word:' On the #FIND# Scriptline : 48

I tried to manually go in the script and delete the " ' " but when I did, I then got an error on line 49. Since I have only used the program for a few hours I am not sure how to procede and I hope someone can help fix this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Xtropy

The problem about breaks between words is related to script. I will release soon a new Script for IMDB that fix this problem.

About Actors you are right, at this time there isn't this cross-reference, but I have plan to make it soon.

Thank you!

Hi,

Probably the script has became obsolete and need to be fixed.
We (me, others people on the team and registered users) try to fix old script and make new ones, so sometimes some doesn't work.

I hope to fix it soon.

Bye!

Wow! Thnx man. Much appreciated. The reviews are a lot better on this site then from IMDB.com IMHO. When I was messing with the program last night I noticed that that over 50% of the scripts weren't working. I know it's a lot of work to make sure the scripts work but when one of the program "features" is that it can gather data from 80+ sites, I think it's a bit misleading when the primary focus is on IMDB and over half the sites you can't connect to.

Is there anyone that goes through the scripts before they are released to the public and assures that they work? I personally feel that this is quality control and don't know of many other programs that ship with so many parts that don't function. Still, it's the best program out there for DivX catalogues and I am learning to work around the bugs. Does anyone know that none of the Chain scripts work? Just a suggestion but I think this product needs more quality control. It feels more like a beta right now.

The problem is that web sites change often their pages structure (sorry for my bad english) and many sites are down, so scripts doesn't work. It's not simply to correct each script, it need more time and patience. The only way is post problem on this forum and try to resolve the problem

The problem is that many websites change their site structure from time to time so that the old scripts aren't working any longer. I think it's impossible for Alessio to maintain the bugfixing for more than 80 scripts. When you find an obsolete script, please post it here in the forum that the corresponding script author can fix it. Many scripts are less requested than IMDB and therefore nobody really knows that they aren't working any longer.

Yes, because the chain scripts only combine the ordinary scripts. In xMM the available chain scripts are based on obsolete scripts. BTW: It's always better to define own chain scripts, because then you can consider your personal preferences.

The best quality control is the feedback of the users.

Mawu:

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am not trying to upset anyone, just stating my observations since using the product.

What I will do is post on the forums with the bugs as I find them. If this is the primary way of collecting bug issues, I will post and go from there. I do warn you that I will be posting a lot and whenever I find a bug I will post (as your suggestion). Some seemed obvious but unless I see a post in the forums, I will bring it to the Dev's attention.

Thanks again everyone for your replies,
Xtropy

Well unfortunately I noticed a lot of problems with the search mechanism in this script. Any more then 2 words and you do not get the correct results. Also, a lot of single name movies don't show up at all in the script but they are easily found on their website. Is there a way to use a manual URL rather then having to select from the list?

A few examples of movies that this script does not find:

Paycheck
Rundown

Thanks,
Xtropy

Correct a little bug in the script (now PAYCHECK and RUNDOWN, for example, are OK)

"Any more then 2 words and you do not get the correct results": can you make an example?

Sure I can make lots. Try:

Good Bad Ugly
Empire Strikes Back
Last Boy Scout
Lord of the Rings
etc.

Just type 3 words in and you will see that all it shows are movies that start with numbers.

Thnx for the fix though. Hopefully you can find this bug too :)
