Basically, after i import with file scanner, i update manually all the movie names 1 by 1 with imdb ids, then i run the IMDB complete script, and forget.
With name/year, if you choose take the first link automatically setting it will import without user interaction but still prone to false matches.
Another issue i saw yesterday, while importing with movie name/date duo, movies with single words not imported, ie: "Batman Dark Knight" works, where "Batman" does not. I had to add "." at the end to make it work.
Another issue i posted, i think around 2 years ago, is almost 75/100 of imported movie posters not shown at right pane, have to open the picture file manually and resize it everytime.
Could you please let me know from where to address Ale? I have more than 10K movies in xmm, so don't wanna change app, i managed to solve issues most of the time until now(i think it should have been around 10 years) but these problems became too annoying.

You can address Ale by email via the forum software or directly (Alessio.Viti-at-binaryworks.it). But I don't think that he really will answer...
Only thing I could do for you is to make a little utility that extracts the id from the filename, set it into the appropriate field in database and set the movie to already imported from web. This way you can use the re-import without having to select any movie again.
But for that tool I would need a little time and the info about your filename convention.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

Same here. TV shows are fine, but movies are not.

I looked further into the code, and IMDB updated its HTML layout for the movie search page. This means Extreme Movie Manager cannot obtain the variables correctly to create a list of movies.

In short, movies queries work for nobody. JDommi may be able to help out. I'm not familiar enough with the code.

Hi!
I just have read that the script is broken again.
I will try to fix it but at the moment I don't have really much time for so it will last a few weeks, sorry.
But if someone is willing to spent time on it I have collected the significant text markers for the #MOVIELIST#:
#FINDLINE#=<ul class="ipc-metadata-list //start of result list
#FIND#=<li class="ipc-metadata-list-summary-item	//start of entry
#FIND#=<div class="ipc-metadata-list-summary-item__cc">	//end of entry
#FIND#=<div class="sc-17bafbdb-4 hCrApe"> //end of list

:loopnext
#FIND#="lazy" //cover pic	if: "lazy" << end of entry
#FIND#=href="/title/ //link to page
#FIND#=>						//movie title
#FIND#="_blank"> //movie year
#FIND#="_blank"> //main actors (2)
							//combine info to display
#GOTO#=loopnext

Hello everybody! I have read here, https://www.reddit.com/r/kodi/comments/zb9xtu/is_there_an_issue_with_universal_movie_scraper/ in the 2nd post, that IMDB is denying access to any scraper. In the past 7 or 10 days I could download movie data by putting in the Movie Title field IMdB's relevant page address (tt*******), but this morning this trick didn't work anymore.

Maybe IMDB is responding only when the requester is a browser, and no more when it is another kind of program?

If this situation can't be easily fixed, I would suggest to create a script for TMDB (The Movie Database), which is the default movie database for Kodi Media Player, and works rather well. Source code for the TMDB's Kodi script is available, and I think it should be rather easy to build on it a script for XMM. I would do this myself, but unfortunately I have no knowledge of HTML. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everybody!

At first merry Christmas everybody

I've just begun to fix the script.
1. fix: #CREATEMOVIELIST# https://www.mediafire.com/file/1ng593nrvp8mvb9/IMDB.COM_2023_%2528Complete%2529.txt/file

Please check it, if there are no special movies that behave another way.
The rest (hopefully) will follow later...

Strange, but I only have tested it with my debugger.
I will test it tomorrow with XMM itself.

Edit:
Error found. The search string has changed from
#WEBQUERY#=https://www.imdb.com/find?ref_=nv_sr_fn&q=#MOVIE#&s=tt
to
#WEBQUERY#=https://www.imdb.com/find/?s=tt&q=#MOVIE#&ref_=nv_sr_sm

Unfortunately there have to be fixed really every block No single line of info is taken at the moment...

And as it always is I have an acute influenza. So please stay patient.
I'll try it as soon as possible.

Partly fixed...
https://www.mediafire.com/file/4dwvll7p062r9w5/IMDB.COM_2023_%2528Complete%2529%25282%2529.txt/file

On some pages there must be added the ref number for detail pages like /?ref_=tt_ov_dr for directors.
If someone would note them it would be easier for me to fix.

At the moment I'm not really fit - the influenza is in real corona. Last three days I was nearly "72 hours in bed". Luckily my wife is "only" suffering a cold.

I tried the new script... No change, nothing is downloaded.
Thank you anyway!

It's weird but it works perfectly for me. All information is downloaded perfectly. I first downloaded the script without modifications and then made some changes by setting Italy as the default language, increasing the number of actors and eliminating the complete download of the biography of the actors and downloaded everything without errors. Many thanks to JDommi for his input and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Well, this time I have tested it with XMM and with my debugger.
Do you have used the (V2) script?
On the directlink and on having only the imdb-id I still haven't had a look!

This info I got for searching Turbulence and selecting the movie from 1997:

<GOOFS>After setting the fire, Ryan calls, "Teri! Teri!" yet his lips are not moving.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When Teri is able to make initial radio contact with the ground, one of the female ground controllers says that they need to locate a 747-200 training pilot. However from the exterior shots of the plane one can see that it is a 747-300 (however the 747-200 and 747-300 have the same type rating, so a -200 training pilot would be relevant to a -300).#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#Air traffic control radios to the 747 to switch to emergency frequency 133.75, emergency frequency is actually 121.50.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#After the co-pilot engages the auto pilot and starts walking out of the cockpit, the plane is shown as sharply gaining altitude. The co-pilot then lunges forward, as if the plane had taken a sharp descent.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#The plane shown being refuelled is a 747-400, yet the flight engineer manuals in the cockpit indicate a 747-200, as do shots and dialog during the remainder of the movie.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#After the truck is shot off the wheel of the plane, the plane's tire is undamaged.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#In the storm, as seen from outside the plane all the lights on the main deck are flashing on and off in unison, but inside the plane various lights flash on and off individually or in small groups.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#The jet ordered to shoot down Teri's plane is identified by the call sign "Moondog" but his side-panel and helmet clearly indicates his call sign is "Hammer".#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#The airplane shows no scrapes on the bottom after crashing into the hotel.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#The door to the cockpit is seen flapping behind Terri after she already shut it firmly (and it's supposed to lock automatically). In the next shot, the door is firmly shut.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#As Lauren Holly's character is standing on the steps over the tarmac, no rain is visible and her hair flows gently in the breeze. As the shot changes back to the detective with his umbrella, a heavy rain is obvious.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#At JFK airport you can see through the windows that the plane is backing slowly away from the gate, but in the next scene it shows workmen outside removing blocks from the wheels to allow the plane to taxi.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#While Lauren Holly's character is trying to land the plane, she is seen quite clearly through the windshield. After she has been injured, the blood on her face leaves for a while, then comes back.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#Shortly after Teri is asked about her first sexual experience, we see her face from outside a window. Although the plane is in a severe storm, the hull has no rain on it and the glass is clear.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When Teri idents the second time, the information appears on the map farther east than the first time, although the plane is flying west.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When the pressure hull is breached, the copilot declares an emergency and requests permission to descend immediately, but Air Traffic Control says to maintain altitude due to traffic below. What should happen is that he starts the emergency descent first, then tells ATC what he's doing, and they immediately divert the other traffic to give him priority.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#A 747 is unable to maintain stable flight while inverted, and then resume level flight.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When the air pressure drops inside the plane, most of the oxygen masks fail to drop from the ceiling. Much later, for some reason, they suddenly do.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#Just after Teri blocks the opening in the hull, the autopilot spontaneously reengages itself. Autopilots don't do that.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#Due to the pressure difference between the inside and outside of a plane during flight it is virtually impossible to open a cabin door on a 747 in mid-air; it could conceivably take as much as 1000 pounds of force to even get the door open a few inches. This is an intentional part of the door design and is no secret to trained flight personnel.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#The times shown at various points along the trip are somewhat too late for the amount of sky light depicted on December 24. Most notably, sunset at Las Vegas would be just past 4:30 pm PST on that date, yet we see the sky not fully dark at 5:35. What's more, at the same time a fully dark sky is seen at Los Angeles.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#This aircraft cannot fly inverted without the engines flaming out from fuel starvation.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When Teri was setting up the computer to land the aircraft, a list of airport codes can be seen on the display with the top being KBFI. This means that the aircraft departed from Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington. If the plane had departed from Kennedy Airport, the airport code at the top should have been KJFK.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#Although the aircraft is correctly identified as a 747-200, the cockpit is clearly not from a 747-200.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When the plane loses communication, the controller asks them to sqawk 7700...the actual transponder code for loss of communication is 7600. It is also doubtful that 747s have a rapidly closing sliding door at the top of the staircase to the upper deck.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When the plane is descending into KLAX as it nears the runway threshold, a whoop-whoop siren blares in the cockpit. The pilot in the control tower trying to assist the landing immediately says that the "plane is stalled." The stall warning is either a horn, a stick shaker, or both; neither of which is sounding in the cockpit. The whoop-whoop noise is associated with the Ground Proximity Warning System. The "training pilot" in the tower would know the difference in the alarms and would not then ask for TOGA power to avoid a stall. Furthermore, he would not be concerned about a GPWS alarm while the plane is over the runway.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When the plane is flying through the storm, all of the exterior shots show the lights inside blinking on and off through the windows. However, during the interior shots, the lights are on steady; none of them blink at all.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#When Stubbs kills the Marshal in the toilet and takes the handcuff keys from him, the cuffs on Stubbs' wrists are clearly already open.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#The tower controller informs Teri that she is cleared on the ILS, runway 7R. A few seconds later, we see the magnetic compass showing the plane's bearing shifting from 210 to 230 degrees. Either the compass is wrong, showing the plane heading southwest, or the plane isn't aligned with the 070 localizer, to the EastNE.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#While Lauren Holly's character is trying to land the plane, we see her quite clearly through the windshield. After she has been injured, the blood on her face leaves for a while, then comes back.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE#</GOOFS>
<TRIVIA>Despite being a box-office failure when released theatrically, two direct-to-video sequels were made. This was due to the movie being one of the most rented home videos of 1997.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#Was initially scheduled for theatrical release in December 1996 to coincide with it's Christmas setting, but was instead delayed until January 1997.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#MGM pulled trailers from theaters and temporarily suspended its marketing campaign after the crash of TWA Flight 800 on July 17, 1996.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#The airliner used in the movie (N614FF) was a Tower Air Boeing 747-246B. The fictional TCA livery seen is very similar to Japan Air Lines' livery but minus the Tsurumaru Crane Bird on the tail.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#Screenwriter Jonathan Brett claimed to be at a loss with the film. In a 1999 interview, he stated that, "I don't know what I was thinking. I mean, it makes no sense, characters act like imbeciles, dialogue is pedestrian... but they threw millions my way. I guess I should be happy."#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#Final theatrical film directed by Robert Butler.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#The toy store in the movie is in reality a bookstore on Main Street in Clinton, NJ. There actually is a toy store on Main Street, but it is in an alley and director Robert Butler didn't like the exterior of the building. The bookstore's front window was decorated with toys for the week of filming.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#As the plane is loading near the beginning of the film, Catherine Hicks and Lauren Holly have a discussion about serial killers. Hicks says, "did you ever see Bundy? He was a charmer! Mark Harmon played him in a TV movie!" Holly later went on to star opposite Mark Harmon in the final season of Chicago Hope and NCIS.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#Studio records claim that this film cost $55 million (and grossed less than $3 million) yet it features no top flight name stars in its cast, has only one not particularly expensive main set (the airliner interior) and only has one big action sequence. All of which suggest it could/should have been made for $25 mllion or less...#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#The DVD for the film debuted on June 24, 1997, and was the first title from the year 1997 to be released on the format. Titles which debuted on DVD during the prior seven months were all films from 1996 or earlier, that were released to cinemas prior to the advent of DVD.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#Grand L. Bush's third Christmas action movie behind Lethal Weapon (1987) and Die Hard (1988)#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#While discussing what serial killers "look like", one flight attendant uses Ted Bundy as an example of looking like a "charmer" and tells Teri (Lauren Holly) that Mark Harmon played him in the TV movie. The movie referenced is The Deliberate Stranger (1986). Lauren Holly would go on to star with Mark Harmon on NCIS.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#The plane crash scene was given an honorable mention in WatchMojo's Top 10 Plane Crashes in a Movie list.#NEWLINE#------------------------#NEWLINE##NEWLINE#</TRIVIA>

Thank you Jdommi, now it works! But it doesn't download actors for me (I tried with 25, 12, and 50 actors), and no Comments. EVerything else is OK. My setting has Complete import=0 and Actors Complete download=0.

To Lo Zio: For you the actors are not taken in general? Or aren't they stored in the database?

I tried now your latest script. Actors are not taken at all. Everything else seem to work OK, except comments, that are not taken, too.

A Happy New Year to you and to all readers!
