there's a comparison between some of the best movie collection software.
BUT i tried to check why XMM is in the 4th place and i found some mistakes:
it says XMM doesn't have a scanner, DVD episode details, doesn't have trailer link and website link, doesn't have notes field, can't export to excel text and pdf formats, can't import from other DVD managers, can't create buckups, doesn't support windows 7.
all of the above exists in XMM but the TOPTENREVIEWS sais it's not, like it did last year too. |

Well, they seem to not know that release 6.8 is not the latest version.
But beside their fine for use and installation it IS the best product. And when Ale has fixed all the little bugs: His name is Connor MacLeod. He is immortal. Oops, I meant: Its name is XMM. It is divinely. 
And in my opinion the support and the forum should give a few more Brownie points! |

I have Checked this years review, still 4th place.
according to TopTenTeviews.com XMM lacks:
Episodes: "Doesn't keep track of the individual episodes within the TV series." It Does!!
Notes: "Doesn't let you add notes about the movie". The Field "Comments", in the media tab, lets you add notes, same thing. if that is the purpose of this field.
Website Links: "Doesn't let you add links to the movie's website". The field "Official Web" in the Details tab lets you add the official website (maybe should be renamed to Official Website).
Trailer Link: "Doesn't let you add links for a trailer of the movie". In the Files tab there is a field called "Trailer File". Although a little confusing if it's for a weblink or path to a local file.
Special Features: "Doesn't display a list of the special features included with the movie". The field "Features" in the DVD/VHS tab lists the features.
Random Pick: there is a random movie pick but only in the Statistics window (in the HTML Card window). Maybe adding a function/button in the main toolbar will make it more accessible, by pressing would load a random movie in the html card (not in the statistics window).
Search by By MPAA Rating. i tried to search by MPAA by writing PG-13 in the search field and choosing search by ALL FIELDS but the results weren't exact. Adding the MPAA field to the field dropbox for selection would help.
Exporting: to HTML, EXCEL,TXT is possible (not according to TopTenReviews), but only the Grid and Advanced Grid, not Thumbnail View. (excel gives an error when opening).
Creating a Backup is also possible.
XMM supports Windows 7!!! |
