Now blu-ray disc are: -Only 2D - 2D & 3D - Only 3D
I think is good thing add a check box 2D&3D near the existing 3D box |

One movie is 2D or 3D. Do you think of a movie in both versions on a blueray? In this case I would only set the 3D flag and would take the info of both versions into Extras... You're request would be only possible by adding a new checkbox or by changing from checkbox to combobox. Or: as I already have "misused" the new Extra3 field "Character Info" it would be possible to "misuse" the checkbox for "Original" for your wish. Not the best way but at the moment already practicable... |

The reason for it is probably that some 3D Blurays are only playable on a 3D Bluray-Player with a 3D-TV. At least on a Hardware-Player. If you don't have both of them the Bluray is useless/unplayable to you.
But on a PC you can always play every 3D Bluray as 2D with a little help(er)... |

Although I have a new PC I don't have a blueray, but I think the XBox of my son does have... |

I think a combobox with the 3 options is better. we should be compatable with the changes of the formats. |

Could add more confusion to the topic. The new release packs with 2D and 3D and DVD. I guess you'd have to list each one.

Isn't it enough to have 2D (as standard), 3D and 3D-only? The medium is already in the side info. |

Of course. I just think packaging that way is a bit overboard. Lower the prices would be nice instead. For me it wasn't a request just an observation of the extreme. |

Well, for whom do they sell such boxes? You are forced to by more than you want/can use. It's like in big supermarkets: you have to buy a bunch of nails instead of the one or two you really need! I agree to Chad, they shall lower the prize instead!!! |

You know who needs 3 or 4 copies of the same movie on different formats. In some cases they offer the 2D or 3D but others they offer both and the DVD and Digtial Copy. I'd have to really love a movie to want that many versions then I'd have to ask would I watch enough to want to pay that much for it. The digital copy is to get you in the frame of mind of streaming a video which is where some of this is headed. Perhaps it will change when consumer demand isn't there. Like Disney Blu Ray with the DVD copy to take "on the road" for the kids. Nice if your car has the equipment or you have kids. |
