Hello, I's using XMM from long time. This is favorite software, because my hobby is movie collecting. ATM my collections is 1200+ HD movies and it's growing. My NAS is 12Tb, but I can expand it to easy to 24Tb. My first problem when I reach 500 movies was, how to organize collection. Scrolling 25 and more screens on the player is boring and finding a exact movies is hard. That's why I made 15 folders and I'm sorting movies depends of genre. So my idea is: if it's possible to make start-up screen with different folders for genres. Where user can choose how folder will look with nice folder icon. I know that there is sort fields but for us will be much easier to sort movies in folders and sub folders.
Thnak you for your suggestion. Do you want show "Real" folders that are in your NAS or simplya visualization of genres in database (with an icon like a folder)?
I will show how looks my folders on XBMC. Buy the way this guys are doing amazing job. Sorry that icons on main folder not looking very good. They are low resolution, but I converted TVIX icons just to show what I mean.
the tree view may help in showing/controlling the database. in the tree view you can sort by genre, among other things. maybe improvement of the tree view in an "iTunes" like way can help controlling the database.
