Hello
i think it would be nice to add a field "release date", may be in the "DVD/VHS" tab, maybe instead of "media year".
that way XMM would show all the movies that are still unreleased.
It would be also cool to add a "pre ordered" field or to add "pre ordered" in the STATUS field.
that way in ,the tree view maybe, it would show availible/upcomming releases. XMM can filter that by comparing the release date to the current date.
that way people would know which movies that they want to buy/ordered are availible to buy/expected to be delivered.

The Release Date, if it exists, already comes down via one of the Custom fields. You can manually add a value to the field if its a future release date. Give that a try...

Should be added to the status of the movie: In collection, Wanted (like in XBM). I think now you only have separate checkboxes for marked and wanted...

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

JDoomi: Agree with u about the status. if it's to be added to the status then there shouldn't be a checkbox. and add the status "preordered" too, to see which movies are preordered on the internet. (on amazon for example)
by the way, what is the purpose of the "marked" checkbox?
nehickel: The Custom field: does it contain the release year of the movie to theaters or on DVD stores? i meant to DVD store release. either way, people prefer this to be automatically updated instead of manually inserting information. The already existing field "media year" could do fine, but it needs to show the full date, not only the year.
If you add it to the custom field, how do you check if the release you due? instead there can be a filter in the view tree, which already has filters, which has "available" filter which will show new DVDs released, that are still haven't been updated into "in collection", and upcoming filter which will show the movies that their release date is due, and will show how many days left.
another idea is to make popups when a "wanted" movie is available in stores, popups like those that shows there is a new script, on the bottom right when you start XMM.

Marked means what it said: movie is marked for any purpose.
To the Custom field: just import info from IMDB to check that. In the AKA field there is after the AKAs a release date from different countries.

In order to achieve what is possible, you have to try the impossible over and over again.

JDommi: those release dates are the release dates of the movie in cinemas, not in DVD stores.

Have a look at the media specifications -> media year.

I'll second kirill2785's suggetsion to change media year into media release date (as it is realized already for the boxsets).
