Similar to my request about the Quick Search dropdown, could the behavior of the GroupBy feature in the Treeview control be modified so that there is an option to treat both the Genre and Subgenre as one?
IE, the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" gets assigned to the Comedy Genre, with Romance as a Subgenre. And the movie "Serendipity" gets assigned to the Romance Genre with Comedy as a Subgenre. But for all intents and purposes, these are similar movies, both of which would be suitable to watch with my wife. But If I group by Genre, only one shows up under Romance, and Only one shows up under Comedy. So I have to do lots of manual searching and grouping to find a suitable movie for family night, etc.
I would like them both to show up under Comedy, and also both to show up under Romance. Same thing for Action/Sci-Fi and Drama/Thriller, etc. These are usually arbitrarily ordered when assigning the Genre in IMDb, and so similar movies end up with different main Genres in eXtreme, and this makes sorting, searching and grouping very difficult.
Basically, when doing *ANY* searching or grouping anywhere in the program, I would like the ability to have Genre and Subgenre taken together and treated as one so that all movies in that category show up under those searches or groups regardless of what order the Genres were listed on IMDb or other web sites.
Many thanks The REAL Joe |
