I am getting really slow speeds doing ANYTHING with my database...

I have 1,255 movies and 40,697 actors.

Does anybody have more and if so, is everything quick or slow for you?

Hi,

I have more than 1510 entries of movies and 15491 actors and XMM works perfect.

Please describe more the problem you have. For example, you use the moviecard view or the quickedit view?

Speaking of actors in database, I have sooooo many duplicate entries for actors. How do I correct this? Is there a way to merge enteries?

Should I delete all the actors from database and re-run the imdb scripts for the movies? Why does this duplication happens? Why does XMM add new actor with unique ID eventhough the name already exists in the library?

Try a database compact action. It might help.

I am using the Quick Edit for movies and actorcard1 for actors.

If I click on "Seen" it takes OVER 45 minutes and afterwards there are no movies listed...

If I click on Show All Actors, it takes over 7 minutes but DOES show the list when completing.

In both cases, the "Loading values in Grid, please wait..."

I have an Intel Core2 CPU @ 2.13 GHz with 4GB RAM on Vista. No on-access virus, etc. scanning. No other "slowdowns" with other programs.

I have no idea if this is affecting anything, but I have my database stored on a different drive (D:) than where XMM is (C:)

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!! I had tried repair and compact before but it didn't help anything.

I was messing around and selected sort by name for "show all actors" and there were about 100 actors with no names, no imdb numbers, just the actor information. I deleted all of them and now the "seen" filter for movies is almost instant!!! Why did the messed up actors affect the seen filter? The "show all actors" still takes over 7 minutes.

Really strange that the Actors database affect also the Movies! Should really not happen!

I am trying to find an explanation to this.

About the 7 minutes to load all actors... I will make tests also to my PC.

Thank you!
