Hi Alessio, I have to admit I am shopping around a lot to find the best movie collection manager that suit my needs. Yours is still the one I want to keep using because I find so many useful functionalities that are not in other softs. I have seen many, and some of them look very polished (for example, DVD profiler has the eye candy feel that I mentioned in an earlier post, but lacks on other things)
Now the one thing that I dearly miss in XMM is the ability o capture keywords in imdb. The software called "personal video database" (that is not half as good as XMM) captures these tags/keywords very easily, and make them clickable as links! That is EXACTLY what I need you to implement in XMM. I do not have the technical abilities to do that so that's why I rely on you. Please have a look at that soft (and maybe look for how it does it), you can group movies with some tags, etc... it is sooooooo practical!
Sorry for posting so many messages, but I think XMM has the potential to beat them all. Thanks for your understanding, I hope you'll look into it.
D.

@Alessio
maybe you can also take a look at the tagging (and filtering system) of dvd profiler - just as an inspiration.
Bye bye Mawu |

OK Alessio, thanks for the reply. My suggestion is very simple, have a look at that collection manager (personal video database), create a movie profile, use their IMDB script and you will see what i mean. This is the link: http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/
All keywords/tags are very nicely captured. And the best is that they are internal links, in the sense that if I am on the "Wanted" movie card for example, and if I click on the keyword called "assassin", I'll get in an instant, all movies related to Assassins in my collection. The imdb script they use is protected and I could not get it, but I'm sure that with the skills you have, you could do the same thing! I'm EAGERLY waiting for this feature to make XMM the king of all collection managers! Thanks. D.
P-S: Also while you're at it, have a look at the way this other software captures awards, they are very nicely listed in hierarchical menus... |
