Hi,
I've found out that there are some errors within my DB. (From the Web import) Some Fields, like Movie length, contain Hex-Character (#0A = New line) Now I want to Export ALL Information’s to a Text based format, then use an Editor, like Ultra Edit, to remove this bad Characters and reimport all (maybe to a new DB)
Is there any Chance to do this?

I like the appearance the way it is.
I think it is more important to bugfix and to update the Programmer's Guide.
The next step should be to implement some of the posted feature-suggestions.
But I am openminded. |

Hello Alessio,
my comment: Hmm, with the new design xMM looks like Movie Collector (which has a similar interface). What I like is: - the the proposed "interaction" between the list on the left side with the grid view - more than one view at one time possible
But the screenshot is not significant for the following questions: - where are the other views gone (thumbnail views and the "index card view", that I prefer)? For me the new interface should be totatally configurable, which means I will freely determine what view(s) were displayed at the same time (also mini-statistic -->option:display/hide) - how does it look with resolution < 1024*768 (grid view, moviecard, list, mini-stat, quick-search - very much topics were displayed at the same time)
Bye the way: for me in principle the old interface structure was o.k., I won't change too much (maybe with more flexibility). As far as the interface is concerned I would invest more time in the "design", which means: xMM-skins, "noble" colour for the menue, better looking buttons, "rounded" data fields, more significant and nicer icons, icons in data fields (country, genre), and last but not least: don't forget the submenues (e.g. cover manager). Advantage: Such "design work" you can better delegate to the community and focus on bugfixing and new features.
Bye Mawu

hi,
i made the picture very fast and forgot the other windows (thumbnail ....) i know you / we need them ....
the interface is like this from collectorz, wensoftware, but i think that it is very clear and well structured. and i think we need a good grid in the future and this can be shown very good in this view.
the interface should show all the things like ministat and so on .... and you (mawu) are right it shall be customizable.
ok .... post your ideas guys so alessio can build a new great interface for EMM
have a nice day

Hi Guys,
I have quickly update the Editor, so surely there are bugs. I have try it with really few scripts and seem to work, but please report bugs.
you can found it here :

I like the 'explorer' table type of format (iirc, I e-mailed you a request for this way back in version 1.1 or 1.2, Alessio, but obviously getting the program more polished was a higher priority - glad to see you're looking into revamping the interface now).
What I don't like about the current interface - getting the list displayed exactly as I want is almost impossible. What I would like - a table view like shown in cortex's picture, be able to add/hide columns with ANY field that's in the database, be able to move the columns by click and drag, and be able to sort the database by simplu clicking on the column heading (first click sorts ascending, second descending) - IE, basically mimic the behavior of windows explorer and 99% of all other programs that implement tables.
Cheers, the REAL Joe |

Hi Real Joe,
My final goal is this : create a grid with all functions you wrote, because for people with large numbers of movies is indispensable. As you can imagine in VB there aren't powerful "Grid" components, so I must find a good one (and quick in refresh).
If someone have suggestions about this please write!
Thank you,
Alessio |
