Hello Alessio,

this topic is to sum up the differents bugs I hva found with the conversion of the database and that I corrected myself in the converted database :
1) I have lost all my Category, Media Language, Subtitle, MPAA
2) In the field Original Language, I have the Media Language at the place (I think error with filed name in your module...)
3) In the field Notes, I have comments information (I have comments in comments field and in notes field)

For the moment, I haven't found another bugs. If i found it, I will post a reply.

Good day Alessio

Hi,

Your bug is really "strange". If I have understand, you press the Media tab and write info in the notes, now press the Details tab -> press the Media tab again and the info in the Notes are gone ?! This is really strange because when you switch tabs XMM do nothing!

I want solve this problem, please write me more details.

Please first make a backup of you DB.

Do you lose everytime the information on the "Notes" field if you change the TAB?

Alessio

I have forget : Do you have "Convert" your old database and now all informations are lost ? However, when you convert a database, XMM didn't delete the old, it create a new DB converted with a new name, so should be easy recover all info.

Hi.

Well I decided to desinstall the 1.6b1 upgrade, then desinstall the 1.5 full version and install the full 1.6b1.

--> Same problem. :(

To be clear I installed the 1.5b1 as usual then XMM asked me to convert my database, I did and everything was ok. When I was in the "Notes" area, I could see what I put here along months.

As usual all was ok.

Now yesterday I upgraded to the 1.6b1. I chose the update instead of the full installation. So I install, XMM starts. It doesn't ask me to convert anything.

Then I go in the "Notes" area and there I discover, horrified, that all info is gone. I never experience any problem with XMM but the day I have something to say, my personal data in the "Notes" area is lost. I think it is because as I said at the top I tried the full 1.6b1 version and I got the same reaction from XMM.

Unless this is only a display bug but the data is still in my database? I tried to locate data with a hexadecimal program but I found nothing. If you could put the 1.5 full version online I could test it.

Of course if as you ask me, I write something in the "Notes" and click elsewhere, when I come back the data is still here. If I click save, the data is saved. Yes it's ok on that point. But to me the problem is that the data I collected here for months, when I upgraded to the 1.6 all the stuff is gone. And as I said I forgot to make a copy of this database and this time the program didn't ask me to convert anything so it directly writes to the database itself.

Yeah I upgraded, noticed that my "Notes" data were gone, I wanted to make a copy of my database and here I noticed the date was changed. I don't know why he saved or writes something in my database but it did. This is the most curious thing in all that sad story. I launch the 1.6, notice something goes wrong, close XMM and the database is modified!?!

Thanks for any info if there is. :)

Hi.

Ok I'm going to ZIP the database and send it to you. I don't know if this is possible, because maybe you need space, but it would be fine if you could keep with the current release the one just before, so that people could go back if something goes wrong, like me hehe. A suggestion. :)
