I just stubled across eXtreme Movie Manager two days ago and am glad I did. The relatively simple yet powerful scripting gives XMM an edge over "the other guys".

Over the past day, I have written a script for a new DVD website which has the potential to add DVDs which are not covered by the other sites (at least from my collection). However, I ran into a problem.

Although the script works flawlessly in the MagicScript Editor included with the manager, I have a problem when I run the script outside of the editor.

When a search is exact, the website automatically redirects you to the movie's page. My script detects a directlink site and then I click "Next Step" to go to the page where fields are imported. At this stage, the web address is incorrect and the script fails. The failing web address is stored in the "Web Link: " and "Directlinks" fields even though I have not issued any "TAKE" commands to populate those fields.

1) Is this a common problem for beginners and is there a solution?
2) Are there additional debug commands that allow output of variables/etc to the console or log?
3) Is there a variable which holds the current webpage, so I can store web addresses in variables (ex: #STRING#=#10#=#THISISTHECURRENTHTTPADDRESS#)?

Thanks!

In addition to my initial questions:

Is there a #TAKExxxx# command for the "Catalog No." field? I was unable to find any documentation, faq, or previous forum topic covering this field. I would like to populate the "Catalog No." field with data from the web. Thus far I have tried "#TAKECDBOXID#" and "#TAKECATALOGNO#" and neither worked.

My interpretation of "Catalog No." is the manufacturer's serial number for the DVD. Something along the lines of "WBT-003"

Thanks for the replies (here and email). I was able to resolve my issues after noticing that changes were not always reflected within the main program until I restarted.

I'm not sure if this is a feature, oversight, or even if this has been noticed universally (maybe it's just me).

My question in the 1st reply to the original topic remain: is there a way to program the Catalog # field with a script? Or am I misunderstanding the intention of this field?

Thanks.
LP

(and Welcome back!)

The Catalog N° is just a field to write where your movie is stored (I mean, the ID of the CD/DVD), this is why there isn't any script instruction that import this field from internet.

bye!

... so is there field targeted for the manufacturer's SKU #?

Something along the lines of "WBT-003"

Some websites refer to this as Manufacturer's Product Code.
