Hi Alessio,
Started the post for a script problem, but edit it to add some other things later, sorry for that.
- I noticed that in some movies the imdb script does not import actors. Example movies: "AUTUMN SONATA (aka Hostsonaten)" "100 mile rule" "12 angry men (1957)" "20000 leagues under the sea" etc. The script finds the page, then everything imported except actors. Maybe a bug or something else? (using latest imdb script)
- I dont think the Movie Awards import working, although i have enable the option take award, i cant see anything imported there in any movie.
- For directors, the script wont take all directors, instead it takes the word (more)
***And couple of other things (so not to make an extra post)
1. Is it possible for each movie to remember the link for every script that info was imported from, so to be able to update movie without the need to select again weblink? (kind like in 4.8)
2. When in add/edit movie info, there is an option at the bottom of the window to move to the next or previous movie. But if you are for example in the starring tab, and you move to the next movie, there is nowhere a notice as to which movie you are on! You always have to move to the movie tab to see the title.
It would be nice to have the title of the movie always visible, no matter in which tab of the add/edit window you are. Maybe make the window a bit higher, and have the line with the movieID and title always visible in every tab?
3. In search for genre, although it searches in subgenre too, it only finds a movie with unique subgenre. If for example a movie has Genre: Comedy - Subgenre: Action/Sci-Fi and you search for Action, it wont find that movie. Only if subgenre is ONLY Action, will find it.
Thanx! |

yep. Same problems.. MTS - fully agree with your. Ans even more - software even close itself time from time if I add new movies. Very bad impressions from 5 version. Hope you will be able fix it. And why you make number (ID) of movie not changeble? in 4.8 I can give a movie any number but in 5 I must make several empty slots if I want give a new movie number more that +1 from previous. |

Hi Guys,
I will answer to some question, today I have fix many bugs of ScriptEngine, especially for Chains.
@MTS:
quote: I dont think the Movie Awards import working
It's not working because I haven't do it yet in the Script, I hope to add this week
quote: 1. Is it possible for each movie to remember the link for every script that info was imported from, so to be able to update movie without the need to select again weblink? (kind like in 4.8)
XMM already do this, this is why the DirectLinks import is separated from Batch Import. If you Batch Import a movie that was already imported, XMM will update the informations (be sure you have correctly configurate the engine to replace old values!)
quote: 3. In search for genre, although it searches in subgenre too, it only finds a movie with unique subgenre. If for example a movie has Genre: Comedy - Subgenre: Action/Sci-Fi and you search for Action, it wont find that movie. Only if subgenre is ONLY Action, will find it.
Please be sure you have uncheck the "Exact Matches"
@Ole

What do you mean exactly? XMM simply crash when you add new movies?
quote: And why you make number (ID) of movie not changeble?
This is only temporary, I will add this possibility.
Thank you!
Alessio

Thanks for quick answer Alessio. just download new release and my crushing (hope so) stay in the past. But problem still is - many movies not import actors (MTS write about it more detail in his post) - new release not fix this situation. I use your default IMDB script. Also Awards and website of movie not work but I think it's temporary. But actors - it's serious:) |

Hi Alessio,
Thanx for the fast reply! Some of the above were clearly covered by your answers, you were right about genre, i didnt know that exact match was for a unique genre in the field, and i didnt notice if i had it on or off. Anyway its working great!
Below is the same list with only the questions/bugs that remained unanswered for now.
1. I noticed that in some movies the imdb script does not import actors. Example movies: "AUTUMN SONATA (aka Hostsonaten)" "100 mile rule" "12 angry men (1957)" "20000 leagues under the sea" etc. The script finds the page, then everything imported except actors. Maybe a bug or something else? (using latest imdb script)
2. For directors, the script wont take all directors, instead it takes the word (more)
3(Request).
[I have add the Title in the Form Text (at top) in 5.1.6.0]
Thanx! |

Hi Guys,
I have upload just now the new IMDB Script, now it should take Starring for all actors.
If you find another movie without Starring please let me know.
You can update your Already-Imported movies with Batch Import: just select these movie without starring and XMM should be able to download it (after you have download the new script of course)
Bye!

Hi Alessio,
Seems to work fine now with couple of movies i tried. Thank you! Only the director thing still exist.
Just one request, to make life easier.
Is it possible to select several movies in the grid (those without actors for example) and with right click, select to go to bach import (step 2) for the selected movies? Cause i only see an option to import direct links (step 1).
As far as i can see, its possible to go to batch import, select a category (eg. already imported) and then select the movies you want. But that way you can't see other info of the movie (eg. without actors). That is possible only from the grid (you select the field with actors in the grid, and then the movies without info in that field, easy) but you cant go directly to batch import for the selected movies.
* And something else. Also in batch mode, to be able to change scripts options and import fields, which is currently available only in import direct links (step 1). If you want to use the batch mode to update specific fields, you have to change first the fields the script will import from step 1, and after go to batch mode.
It would be the best if the options and the fields a script imports, could be different in every different situation.
Explain myself: Lets say i make a default chain first, with imdb+dvdempire scripts. I select every field except pictures in imdb and only pictures in dvdempire. Use this as default chain. At some other time i want to import some fields with imdb, so i select the imdb script only, tick the appropriate field i want at that time(lets say 5 fields) and import. Now, if i use my default chain at a later time, the imdb will import only that 5 fields, cause that was the last change i did in the script(but not in the options inside the default chain). So what i mean is, at least for the default script/chains, the script's selected import fields and options should not be affected [if possible of course!] by various other changes.
Hope you understand what i mean. Thanx! |
