How can I automatically insert the release date of a film into the title as it appears in the grid view and in the html card??

Thanks

I like to put the release date after the title, in parentheses, because often movies get remade with the same title and it's easy to distinguish them this way.

As said above this is very good for the grid view...which is my preferred view because it is so fast and simple...the other views are the scenic route through your collection...nowhere near as fast and simple.

I do what the above member suggested as well....but when you are doing batch adds this is really a pain.

Of course the negative side effect of this is that in the HTML card view you get the release date, in parentheses, twice....not aesthetic but I can live with it.

Still would like a way to automatically put the release date in with the movie title automatically.

Personally, I put the year name in the filenames of all my movies. Then I simply copy the filename to the title. Then IMDB lookup almost always works without me needing to actually pick the title manually.

The side effect is that I get "300 (2006) (2006)" with the last "(2006)" in small text.

Another NICE effect is that in the grid I get the movie title with the year in one column. Saves valuable screen space.

Hi,

Sorry but your question is really unusual. If you put the release date in the title you will make it "dirty", not?

I think that is handled by the import script...
