I am currently evaluating XMM to keep track of my movies and to help populate movie data to Meedio.

I have two questions:
Can covers be downloaded to the same dir as the movies is stored in ?
Can the "Check for missing files (on HD)" optionally offer to delete the movie in the XMM db if the files are missing ?

I mainly get a movie, DL data for it, view it and delete it.
That process is problematic with Meedio and I would like to delete a movie, Meedio data and XMM data, in just one or two steps..
With the above funktions I could just delete the movie/dir on my HD and all ref. execpt XMM db will be removed.
When I run the "Check for missing files (on HD)" function XMM will detect that the files are gone and offer me to delete the db entry.

What do you say: Can this be done (perhaps via scripting or is that only for handeling of web pages) ?

Hi,

I have complete one of your request:

-> Covers can be downloaded now to the same dir as the movies is stored in (option in the configuration window)

I am working on this:

Can the "Check for missing files (on HD)" optionally offer to delete the movie in the XMM db if the files are missing ?

I hope to finish it for 4.7, because I will release it tomorrow.

i am very interested in this feature as well.

Yes I have seen it (and I am using it).
Infact your idea is great - if I could have an option to delete the media file(s), cover, and media file dir when I delete a movie from the XMM database all my problems would be solved !!

Alessio - Can the above be implemented ?

I don't know if you're aware of XMM Database Importer plugin for Meedio. It keeps your Meedio Media Library synched (one way though) automaticaly. So if you could delete the files via XMM it will also be removed in Meedio. The plugin also takes care of covers etc.

This plugin is the main reason why I still stick with XMM

Yes/No : You can set the cover's folder in the configuration window, so if you have all your movies in a folder the answer is yes, if you have every movie in a separate folder, no. Maybe I can add this feature in future.

IHMO the best (?) implementation would be to have an option to "Store images together with media" or someting like that. In that way both storing each movie in separate dir and all movies in one dir would work.

No, at this time is not possible, but it's really easy to implement, I will try to add next release.

Great stuff - I will register asap
Thanks for a great piece of software !
