I have noticed since the day I started using XMM.
The default browser is not the one I have chosen on my computer.
My default browser is Firefox, and XMM still ALWAYS open IE.
I have installed XMM on two computers, and on both of them (XP and VISTA), XMM opens IE when the default browser is Firefox.

Actually I can live with that.

What is the problem, is the fact that everytime XMM opens IE, I get commercial pop ups to different websites, sometimes it's an insurance website, sometimes it's PC worlds website.
Before you say I have a virus or something, please know that this is happening on BOTH computers, and also ONLY XMM does this. If I open IE from any other program or directly, I do not get any of these VERY annoying pop ups.
Can Alessio explain why this is happening, and maybe let me know how to fix Both issues?

Thanks

D.

Funny, I have been using spybot for years and it just found many entries, I must have forgotten to run it regularly.
I was positive I did not have adware or spyware, but I had them, now all is fine!
Sorry

So I guess i just have to wait for Alessio to input the Firefox code?

Thanks
D.

That's an easy one. IE opens because Alessio hasn't yet done the code to use the default browser (I have sent him some).
The popups you are getting are your fault, not XMMs. You have spyware on your PC.

Run Spybot Search and Destroy on your machine (www.safer-networking.org). It's free and the best software out there.
I would then suggest you update your anti virus scanner with one that does spyware.
