Export (This goes to MemTronic I assume):
In the new export, the filter is defnitly a great option, but the dates come out all wrong. I think the dates are when the movies were added but not release dates. Is that what you planed or was it an oversight? If it was planned, would the release date option be possible in future updates?
File size:
I never get filesize with the movies that are written as vcd's or are on a mpeg or dat form. Is there a way to get that filesize so that the statistics will be right?

cortexwave's suggestion for icon sounds interesting, but you shouldn't give up the clear arrangement of the actual movie list view. A new icon I really like to see: maybe it's possible to mark the series titles in the list with the red star to distinguish series and movies from each other in the "over-all-title-view"

hi alessio and team,
i thought about the movielist on the left side of the screen; i can see the little FORMAT-ICONS left to each movie. would it be possible to put STATUS-ICONS next to the FORMAT-ICON. there also could be ICONS for "new", "working" ....
i will send you an example....

I don't know if someone gave you the idea already but when I add a new media (like DivX , DVD , XVid) it would be useful to make it appear in the Multi change windows in the Change Media Type option. |

there is the possibility in EMM to sort by TODAY-EDITED or NOT_TODAY-EDITED and TODAY-INSERTED and NOT TODAY INSERTED below the QUICK-SEARCH WINDOW.

hi,
and thank you for the updates (it is always like a little party for me.... )
i worked a little bit with EMM and had some new ideas for improvements. i hope you have some time to look at them:
1) in the QUICK SEARCH we can search for SERIES (FIND SERIES): there could be a PULLDOWN MENU with the seriesnames we added to EMM then it would be a little bit faster to find the SERIES
2) the same for SEASON; here we need only a little PULLDOWN from 1 to i donīt know 12 ????; perhaps this is a stupid idea but it would save some place
3)i think that there should be a very important thing near the QUICKSEARCH field; i mean something like an reset button to reset all the typed in words because it take some time to delete them from the SEARCH FIELD after a search; this button should also refresh the view after deleting the words
4)there should be also the CDBOXID in the series view i think.

I have only one small sugestion .:) (It was requested long ago)
In "magic import engine" when we select movies to import I want you to add small thing' after check checkbox the curcor should go down and check another and go down ..... and so long as I will press space button .

like iīve promised you, here my new ideas (perhaps some old):
1) like i wrote in some other posts: i always use the MOVIECARD-VIEW in the EMM and only switch to the old VIEW to see the MINISTATISTIC. is it possible to make the MINISTAT window also for the MOVIECARD view (perhaps for the MOVIECARDS?) or as an floating window, or as an poup with HOTKEY?
2)i think we need some hotkeys for the work with the views now: what i mean are hotkeys for the SERIES and for example the CDBOXID view to switch between them
3) i know i wrote the thing with the grid-control but that seems to be very important ... the problem is that with the CDBOXID in front the whole title of the most movies canīt be seen and havin long titles or episode-titles there will be a bigger problem
ok i willsearch for new improvements ;)

First of all a huge thanx to Alessio for development of this
great software. It really makes administration of movie
collections easier and more enjoyable.
Working with it now for a couple of days showed a few flaws
which I hope will be solved in future updates.
In the movie information section I wish the search function
will be altered. It's a bit complicated to search e.g for an actor.
The quick! mask opens the Find mask and the field droplist
isn't sorted alphabethically. You have to scroll through
dozens of dispensable values and the actor value comes on the
64 place !? Alphabetical assortment would make it easier.
In the actor information section I'm missing the actor's death
date badly. Since this information is easy to get through IMBD
it won't be a huge effort to include in future upgrades !
So I hope these suggestions get picked up and I look forward
to the improvements. Cheers .. |

o.k. I hope this statemant is not only valid for cortexwave therefore I will contribute my suggestions, too (should be easy to implement into the new release:
- Import: CSV, Import from AMDB-Front (offline-IMDB)
- Quick data exchange/data comparison between different databases
- separate config-File for each database
- "Save as" in the database menue to save a loaded database directly under another name
- selection of movies ,e.g. when you import from WWW or in the multi-changes manager should be more flexible. At the moment you can "select all/select none/invert selection". Maybe it`s possible like in other applications with mouse-click + pressed SHIFT-button on keyboard to select more than on movie at the same time.
-cover manager: please enable VHS and DVD label; covers should be connected with MovieID and not with movie name
-Movie sorting/filtering: not only title sorting, but also original title sorting; the more filter/search options the better. One special request: it should be possible to "build" a wish list of most wanted movies within the database (with graduation: maybe/wanted/most wanted etc.). This movies should only be displayed when you activate the corresponding filter in the status field (and shouldn`t get a "regular" movie id)
- more differentiation of "movie type" as far as DVD is concerned: DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW
- more fields for DVD: dvd type, dvd features/hidden features/easter eggs etc.(I discussed pros and cons of xMM in comparison with dvd-profiler with some profiler enthusiasts and this was one of the missing "features" for them)
- personal rating: film quality/video quality/sound quality maybe with nice graphics (e.g. stars)
- actors database: adapting the one or other feature from movie database. Espcially: Better sorting options ( e.g. not only "Woody Allen" but also "Allen, Woody"); additional field "day of death" (also integrating into MagicScript because then you can directly import it from IMDB or Prisma-Online); Import of biography data (as you promised it some days ago).
-Scripting: possibilty to import most of the IMDB-stuff into xMM - awards (!), the whole crew etc.
- better svcd recognition: at the moment almost every of my svcd is recognized by the engine, but no bitrate, A.bitrate is nonsense, no movie length, no MB
- more statistics: statitstic about genre, year, directors etc.
- complete(!) translation

7) i think i wrote this before too but it would be nice to have the ministatistic (+ cdboxid and so on) as a undocked little window (i work always with the MOVIECARD VIEW and never look on at the NORMAL VIEW but i need the ministatistic everytime.
--> perhaps it is possible to make the MINISTAT an individual window or perhaps as a popup by a HOTKEY also in the MOVIECARD VIEW
8) a possibility to show the titles sorted by CDBOXID - title but with the option to show episodes one season together as one entry; for example: "voyager - season 6". clicking on this entry it could open and show all episodes from this season.
ok ... more to come ;)

thank you both for your answers. i am very happy, that it is possible to implement the ideas of mine in EMM.
1) like i wrote before: the MULTIPLE-CHANGES possibility would need many new functions. th is would be great. having big databases there is often the problem changing many entries at once. iīve tried the FIND-TEXT and REPLACE and the problem is: i would like this one for the TITLES what means that i also could change more titles at once....what do you think?
2) a search option also to search directly for the CDBOXID for example in the QUICK-SEARCH would often make it simpler to find a disk; what do you think also about a global search in all fields?
3) could we also see the BOXID in the LOAN-HISTORY and MULTIPLE-CHANGES-WINDOW? (not only the MOVIE ID)
4) sometimes someone wants to show his movies but not for example SERIES or HORROR movies is this possible in the MOVIES-VIEW? i think that i could be filters or something where i could say "donīt show "buffy"-genre
5) sometimes i wish a GRID/Table view above the MOVIECARD-WINDOW where i could see the TITLE / DIRECTOR / RUNNING-TIME / CDBOXID / GENRE / .... at once (like in WENSOFTWARES MOVIE LIBRARY). this would be great but it would mean terrible work for you, hmmm? perhaps you also thought aboout....
--> there we could for example color the grid or the movies in the table to show if they are lent out or wanted....
--> i think, i wrote this a long time ago; i donīt know anymore... :-)))
6) i donīt know if this is possible, but it would be cool to have one option, which shows not only the TODY-INSERTED movies but also MOVIES inserted for example in the last 3 days.....

Hi,
It's easy to implement both request, I will do it now, and please write me if you have new ideas because we are working hard these days to implement new functions.
The sincronization about XMM and ASX is not easy, the way is to make a function like the ASXMaker to build ASX indipendently. I will do it in future.
