Posted - 12 Apr 2004 : 23:41:01 I'd like to take as much data/features as possible with me in my pocket.
Windows Mobile 2003 does not support DCOM, so I cannot use the xHTML export.
excel/csv is just too hard to browse...
so ... any suggestions ?

Posted - 12 Sep 2004 : 20:04:42 Solution:
As we all know, thanks to Alessio, eXmm does *not* use some propietary cr@p-database. All PocketPC owners, use M$ ActiveSync, and ActiveSync can syncronize, or replicate eXmm database(selected tables) to PPC just fine. The only remaining challenge was to find a way to present the data in a nice way on PPC. "Data On The Run" http://www.biomobility.com/dotr4.htm (among others) does just that.
so, it was all about discovering, and finding the solution...

Posted - 16 May 2004 : 14:32:53 thanks for the tip but ListPro was WAY to messy to do that right. first: for each manual import I had to redefinfe all columns, - then there was no way to automate updates, and everything had to be done over again... |

Do you know Listprohttp://www.iliumsoft.com/site/lp/listpro.htm? Dataexchange is possible with csv-Format.

Posted - 11 Nov 2002 : 20:41:41 I must clarify a thing :
If you upgrade from DivxManager 1.0 to eXtreme Movie Manager 1.1 you must first INSTALL THE SHAREWARE FULL, because there are new files not inside DivxManager.
About CONFIG.CFG : I have made a mistake, you cannot replace the old CONFIG.CFG because are different, you must set again the CUSTOM FIELDS manually (sorry for this, for the future will be automated).
About IMAGES: the images are NOT inside the Database, but under the "COVERS" Subdirectory, you must manually move the files.
This should be the last time you do this, because for the next release you should only replace the new EXE, and no make all these things. |

Posted - 11 Nov 2002 : 19:58:13 another point on update loss:
after converting my old database, i lose all images for every movie. they are not carried over to the new database.
is there a workaround for that ?

Posted - 11 Nov 2002 : 15:43:35 Oke, I copied the two files, and I have my loanhistory and custom fields back as you said. But now I've got a new problem. Whenever i start the program I get the message "searching for : eXtreme Movie Manager 1.1\configuration\config.cfg". When I press the OK-button the program start and works allright, as far as I can tell. When I close the program or I try to apply changes in configuration I get a message "Error occured, please make sure you have correctly installed all files". So appearantly the program works with the old config.cfg, but is not to happy about it.... (a little bug perhaps...?) |

Posted - 11 Nov 2002 : 15:16:07 Is quite easy :
1)for Loan History : copy the file LOANS.TXT under the "configuration" subdir in the new "configuration" Subdir
2)for Custom Fields : Copy the CONFIG.CFG under the same directory in the new one.
Please make a BACKUP of these file first |
