Posted - 15 Dec 2004 : 20:24:37 Movie ID = Box ID and / Movie ID = Box ID +(#xxx)
I keep my DVD's in aluminum cases, which each contain 500 DVDs. The media is hung from racks in plastic sleeves, which are numbered on the top from 1 - 500. (like an office style hanging folder drawer)
Thus 1) I enter a movie in XMM 2) I must manually change to the MEDIA tab 3) I must manually enter the BOX ID. (this being the exact same number at the MOVIE ID for the first 500 movies. Then for the next 500 movies the BOX ID will be the MOVIE IE + 500.
(note there are other size cases, and the number in a case can be from 200 - 800 DVDs)
WISH LIST: ==> I want an option where I can set XMM to enter automatically the BOX ID. This option needs a setting for choice of number to add to the MOVIE ID for creation of BOX ID". examples: a) I set this new option to tell XMM to enter BOX_ID = MOVIE_ID +0 b) I set this new option to tell XMM to enter BOX_ID = MOVIE_ID +500 c) I set this new option to tell XMM to enter BOX_ID = MOVIE_ID +1000 d) ... etc.. with the "+" quality able to set to any number.
RELATED, but essential OPTION: -> Option to set XMM to check that there are NO DUPLICATE BOX_ID's
PROGRAMMER NOTE: -> when this new feature is enabled, a CLONED movie must also update the BOX_ID at same time it updates the MOVIE_ID for the clone, or there will be duplicate BOX_IDs,
====================================== Note: There must be an optional check box for duplicate BOX_ID checking, as some users will be placing 2 DVD's in the same numbered DVD box, such as in a 2 DVD set. Those users would not want XMM to check for Duplicate Box ID's. Such as when they have MOVIE_ID .. Greatest_Movie with ID 100, and Making_of_Greatest_Movie with ID 101. Yet both are in the same numbered MOVIE_ID box for their usage. |
