Before XMM there was a nice little program called AVItags (see http://abcavi.tk/) it was nice, it downloaded info from IMDB, and:

abcAVI Tag Editor is little stand alone utility for viewing/editing tags in AVI files. In short it allows you to get information on movie from Internet Movie Database or type it by yourself and save that info inside AVI file. Supports RIFF INFO tags, MovieID tags, IDivX tags. Allows editing more than 40 tags, not only "Title", "Subject" and "Copyright","Genre". Support of RIFF INFO tags ensures backward compatibility with standard Windows players like MS Media Player.

Unfortulately it is now unsuported.

It would be VERY nice to have this functionality incorporated in XMM. So that we could use XMM to maintain the movie info in a format that is automaticaly read by a number of players including windows and itunes...

What do you think.

Hi Guys, thinks about this... if you have the XMM imdb info written in the correct AVI tags, the windows media player and vista will have all they need to browse you collection directly, no need to run other programs or maitain all the mediacenter directories etc.. It works..
