The drop-down list for the quick search ("Search on Field") has 'Genre' available as a preset option.

But in many cases, the first Genre listed at IMDb or DVDEmpire are somewhat randomly assigned, and the rest of the items listed go into the Subgenre field in eXtreme. So a movie that is Sci-Fi often ends up getting assigned to the Action genre; or a Comedy ends up with Romance or Drama as the main genre. You get the idea.

So now when I want to find all of my Sci-Fi or Comedy movies, I have to create a custom/advanced filter every time that searches both Genre *AND* Subgenre for the string I want, and that gets to be time consuming and cumbersome every time. If I just use the preset "Genre" from the dropdown, I end up missing a lot of movies that are actually in a particular category just because of the randomness of how they are assigned on the web sites.

It would be nicer if the dropdown had a Genre+Subgenre preset so that this type of frequent search could be executed more conveniently.

ALSO:
it would be nice if the "Advanced Filter" editbox had a button to SAVE and LOAD the filter specification so they can be reused and quickly edited in the future.

Many thanks

Thank you Alessio.

If you didn't see my other post about the same topic, could you also add the "Genre+Subgenre_as_one_field" to the "GroupBy" control in the TreeView Window?

Thanks again!

Hi,

OK, I will add it to next release. Latest Filters can be found in the little combobox at bottom-left of the grid...

Thank you,

Alessio
