I like very much the new interface, is beautiful and easy to find every commands, but ... it's very slow, yes, when I try to "surf" into list Control (grid) of my movies with key down (for example) the movie's information show very slow between two item's movies. I suppose that has no solution, or yes?

Many thnaks for all, for your work for your atention

Faster, now yes. In this moment I'm using the last version 7.0.2.1 and now yes I can to see that is faster when I "surf" across the grid

Many thanks Alessio

And question more, How can I find a movie with specific actor. And one more, how can I delete a actor's card?

Since it was offered as part of the regular update check, a lot of people probably took it without realizing it was still beta. I always check the "What's New" page from XMM before taking an update. I stayed away till version 7.0.2.0 (Which wasn't listed as beta on the what's new page, though I realize now it still is.) Luckily I installed it to a separate directory from 6.x and imported my data to a new set of files, when I did try 7.x, so I was able to continue running 6.x without any problems. I'll continue to play with the new releases as they become available, but unless 7.x improves substantially in the future, I'll stay with 6.8.3.0 (at least as long as the scripts continue to work).

7.x is very, very, very slow. I now wish I had not updated.

There are a lot of other frustrations too.......
(see other post)

Yep I too feel that version 7 is VERY much slower (without Actor pictures). I have approx 1700 movies.

Have not had much time to play with the new interface but I have not found the search option yet.......... does it still exist?

Also the new HTML card thingy - can I customise that?

Tried the shelf display and it did not seem to work on my computer (populated the shelf but could not scroll up and down).

I will continue playing and hopefully give constructive feedback/bug reports.

Cheers,
Laffer

Hi!

I've got 2188 movies. But I don't use the HTML card, I use the classic card. Now, in this moment I use the version 6.8.3.0. I sorry but this version is faster. Yes, It is less beautiful but ... faster

Hi,

The problem is that when you click on a movie XMM must find all actors of this movie and load the photos... it's hard to speed it up

Ale
donnyj Posted - 03 May 2009 : 10:42:08
that makes an AMAZING difference in speed... hopefully you can figure out how to increase the speed while allowing the pictures too!

Also, when reading the tool tip for "Show Actors Photo" there is an HTML tag that is being displayed as plain text. I believe it is the code for bold type.

Hi Josemi,

How many movies do you have in your collection?

The Slow-surf is because you show the Actors Pictures in HTML Card. In the little toolbar at top of Card there is a button "Show Actors Photo", please deactivate it and let me know if Surfing is more quick.

Alessio
