Would it be difficult to have Hyperlinks activated on Movie/TV/scriptctors/... CARDS ?
I mean when I am browsing for information about an actor in the database, and I read the movies he's been involved in, I would like to be able to see and click those I have already in the database. So, maybe it's possible to have them 'hyperlinked' to the movie entry in the DB and have them show up a different color then the rest of the text in the card ?
The same is valid for the other way around obviously; from a movie, to the actor card, TV shows, etc...
Can you imagine how 'COOL' that would be ?
I don't know if it's tough to implement, but it would really give a nice touch to the whole XMM experience; don't you think ?

I'd also like the same 'hyperlink' functionality in the "My Movies", "My TV Shows" and "Actors" tabs, so the same HTML pages function on those tabs *exactly* the same way they do on the "My Entire Collection" tab (which they don't right now for some reason).
The reason is that in the "My Entire Collection" tab, a lot of program functionality doesn't work (ie, you can't use Thumbnail View, Edit, Search, Save, Add Movies buttons are all disabled, etc. So I find the My Entire Collection tab to be of very little use, but I have to go there if I want to browse with hyperlinks that work to jump from movie to movie throught the actor names if you know what I mean.
It's a big pain having to jump from tab to tab to get bits and pideces similar but not exactly the same functionality.
The way it is now, you get some of it here, some of it there, but all of it nowhere...
Really, if the hyperlink functionality could be merged so it works exactly the same in all of the tabs, AND if the rest of the program functionality (Add Movies, Edit, Save, Thumbnails, etc) could all be turned on so they work in the "My Entire Collection" tab, then the usability of EMM would be *much* better (ie, do it all from wherever you are in the interface).
I find this one of the single most frustrating parts of the program. These two parts (the My Movies, My TV and Actors tabs vs. the My Entire Collection) look like they were been developed seperately without consistency to how they work.
Cleaning this up would be great.

Yes, that's almost what I meant; it's missing the actors' hyperlinks for TV shows ( both ways from actor to TV show and viceversa ), and it's missing the thumbnails option...
If this kind of CARD could be displayed alongside the 'regular' movies tab and TV tab with a connection between actors and TV shows, it would be even better. If all the cards could have hyperlinks, it would be easier to navigate...

Have you taken a look into the "my entire collection" tab? There such a hypertext function is realized. |
