Hi, I am considering purchasing your software for my movie collection. I am basically trying to decide between CATvids and Extreme Movie Manager. One thing that I found that I can do in CATvids and not in Extreme Movie Manager is advanced searching.

For instance, I may want to watch a comedy, in black and white, starring Cary Grant. Right now I can't figure out how I would search that in your program. Another thing is that I would like to be able to search year ranges. Seldom do I know the exact year of a movie I want to watch, but I may know a range, for instance Rock Hudson movies 1955-1959 or some such.

Another thing that I would like to be able to do is click on a Movie title when I am exploring an actor's list of works. If I look at Rock Hudson and I see that he has been in Pillow Talk, I'd like to be able to click that link and then have it either take me to the movie card or ask me if I want to add a new movie card (if one doesn't exist in my database).

Thanks,

Dan

PS - you've done a really nice job with the program.

Thanks - but I need to be able to search for multiple criteria in the same search like genre, format (color, b&w), actor(s), director, etc.

Being able to only search in a couple of those categories only isn't enough.

You can not specify "B&W" for the search right now, but if you want to find "Cary Grant" movies you can go to; VIEV >>> Show Search Panel >>> Type "Carry Grant" >>> Check the "Exact Matches" >>> Change the radio button from "Title" to "Actor"

You may also want to look at my topic on the same subjects and collect the similar ideas under one roof, called "Searching Improvements" which can be found in http://www.binaryworks.it/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4466 .
