The tricky part is that many titles need to be able to link to one media (like on xvid disks, or episodes [if someone wants to go to that much work]). And one media needs to show all linked titles.
All the info on the media tab, plus the "location" field on the extra tab, plus the "media" field on the movie tab need to be part of the new media table. The media also needs a label.
THEN you have to figure out the best way to include the info in the UI. For the cards, I'd suggest just leaving things as they are except the media tab would need a list of tabs down the left side, one for each linked media. One would always be present...the default. (It would also be everyone's current "media" settings.)
Because many titles can be on one media, there would need to be a view where you browsed a table/list of media. Ideally that list/table would include one field representing the titles on the media. The list would only show the first, but have a drop-down box where the remaining titles could be viewed. (this because disk labels can be very criptic). Part of that view, needs to be the capability to drag and drop titles or episodes into the media.
I know that while this took 20 min to write, you would be speedy to code the idea into the project in 20 months. Please rest assured that I'm only trying to give you ideas to work with/toss around here, not crack the slave whip!

Your suggestions are really interesting, I need some time to study this, and to think a way to implement.
Thank you Caunt, you have really nice ideas!
