Posted - 04 Nov 2006 : 16:24:51 After putting My Collection more or the less in the whole into the database, I put here my suggestions of stuff that I miss:
TV-Series: - The number of episode per season (eg: lost season 02 first ep is not only ep 25 but ep 1 as well, what I mean is that there should be a numbering (starting from 1 as well) per season [This depent by script you use. if ou import from TV.com the episodes are sequential and not start from 1 for every season] yes i know, but even if that is from tv.com, can you add a field in xmm that either gives you total episode number or just the season episode number, either way, i think this info is relevant for a collector. even if tv.com doesnt have the season episode number, there might be a sequential numbering useful for this new field, that numbers all marked episodes from 1 to eg 25 -*new* play a certain episode of a tv series
so is there a way of of putting in an additional field for the ep number in the season, or is it too tricky? (while glaring at tvrage.com )
- A way to make multiple changes in one of the fields per episode eg: i bought the half season 2 of lost on dvd, so I want to give the episodes 01 - 12 of that season a catalog number (looks like a small change, but it does the trick. its a pain in the ass if you have to do it for over 100 seasons of tv series). i think that can be done for any field in the db, not only for the media type and the 3 others.(eg stargate: 4 eps on a dvd, its a pain in the ass to number each episode manually, whereas marking 4 eps and assigning them a number would help a lot.done addendum: maybe a way to reset field numbers back to no value (e.g. sold dvds, so catalogue number back to no value - a batch job that does eg: put everything in upper case, that is already in the db (havent found it yet, maybe its somewhere in there) - Multiple edit: eg. media type: Multiple changes to "empty" (eg sold dvds and therefor bring them back to empty fielddone - *new* a way to mark the whole tv-series as well (like the mark / unmark for the eps)
actors: - the imdb script sometimes produces an error of page finished. that it does randomly. i dont know why, maybe because my DB is already so big. it didnt do it before, maybe the new version has a bug. /atm 20k actors in the db done
general: - User access lists by mpaa-Rating. i don't want my kids to see porn movies, so maybe a user management with pw wouldnt be bad, eg: user is 15 years old, so he is only able to see all the movies that are suitable for her / him. |

Posted - 05 Dec 2006 : 01:10:16 if its too hard, there is no real reason to implement it, my suggestions are always on basis, that if you can do it easily, do it, if its a pain in the a** just dont, i just suggest to make everyone happy besides me, when they use this prog :) |

Posted - 04 Dec 2006 : 19:10:25 maybe a back and forward button would be good, like in a browser, but in this case brings you back to where you where before, eg, a certain movie or tv series |

Posted - 17 Nov 2006 : 13:40:18 funny thing when i used the arrow for next at Rurouni Kenshi (anime series): it skipped some episodes, and the missing ones werent accessable, it acts as it was 2 different series with the arrows: it jumps from episode 72 to 85. i imported it via tv.com script at once i named the series, cause maybe its a series problem, maybe its xmm. if i click on an episode between 73 - 84 i can use the black arrows only between those episodes addendum: i checked the .mdb file in access: i can see no difference in the db between file 72 and 73 same tv-series id aso, so it might be an xmm problem and i will copy all this into my bug list ... |

Posted - 14 Nov 2006 : 18:19:19 I have make changes in the Episode EDIT window. When you click on the black arrows at bottom of this window XMM should remain in the same textbox you was.
Please let me know if I do something wrong.
Thank you,

could not find it. it still goes back when i go to the next episode to the episode name field, though i eg was last in the catalog no. field |

Posted - 13 Nov 2006 : 14:30:12 2 more small annoyances / suggestions: 1. if you mark a couple of eps or on certain episode and change something, is it possible to have the same episodes marked after the change? it always goes back to the 1.st episode in the list 2. in the previous versions the cursor stood in the last field edited, now it goes to the first field if you go to the next episode, i think this is new, maybe an option in the options menu would do, eg: remember last field edited Done 5.5.1.0 |

Posted - 11 Nov 2006 : 14:04:09 in the search panel maybe a search field fpr catalog number would be useful (imagine you find a missing number in your collection and want to know which movie it is)
sorry that the suggestions come all one by one, but i always forget them, for some time ^^ |

Posted - 06 Nov 2006 : 18:04:28 as i am a pain in the ass: is there a way of implementing a DVD lookup for episodes as well? eg 4 eps of lost / dvd, to assign the certain episode with a cetain vob file?
purpose is, that one day have a web-based frontend, that will take the database info und will be accessable via browser, that it tells you to puut in a certain dvd and via click play the right file afterwards, for movies even with the right settings. |
