I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm sick to death at being forced to plough through the anti-piracy warning that many DVDs have these days. Fast forward doesn't seem to work and short of throwing a blanket over the TV set and muting the sound, there seems to be no way of avoiding the warning. The worst offender is http://www.momentumpictures.co.uk which even adds advertising to their DVDs!
There's a program called "anyDVD" from http://www.slysoft.com which will filter the offending data if you choose to watch a DVD via your PC, but what's urgently needed is a means of removing the data altogether from the disc (or masking it somehow).
Perhaps Alessio can come up with something?

ah - i see. in this case you can probably search for an alternative firmware for your player - but take care you're loosing warranty if flashing it into your player..

AnyDVD only works if you play the movie on your PC. It's no good for stand-alone DVD players.
I did find one other alternative though and that is to access the menu on the DVD player so that you can reprogram it. It's called the Advanced_Mod_Plug, but you do need an RS232 port on your motherboard and I don't have one. It seems that the problem with skinning as shown in the image I posted above, isn't due to XMM, but to the colour combination in the skin itself i.e. white on grey in the buttons.
So I experimented with combining two different skins and managed to find a workaround as shown here:
This doesn't prevent you from creating a custom skin for XMM of course.

Er...better not Alessio; after much web searching, I discovered that the copy protection mechanism which is included in most DVDs these days prevent you from overriding the "Read Only" attribute. If you were to break that, then you'd probably receive a so called "Cease and Desist" letter from Macrovision's lawyers. 
However, I do have another request (if you get time someday). I've downloaded a program called "WindowsBlinds" from http://www.stardock.com (I'm sure you've heard of it). This application allows the user to change Windows' skins so that you can have the Windows Vista Aero Glass layout without having to wait for Vista or dig into your pocket for $399 The program can also change the look of third party applications such as XMM provided that they're "theme-aware". At the moment, XMM isn't unfortunately. Here's a picture of what XMM looks like in WindowsBlinds:
As you can see, the context menus don't display in the way that they should in this particular theme. An example of what they should look like can be seen bottom right (with the context menu for "Cut", "Copy", "Paste" etc.).
Presumably, you'd have to contact Stardock for instructions on how to make XMM "theme-aware". I would imagine it would be worth your while though since it would make XMM look more attactive to potential customers who already use Windowsblinds.
