I just tried to install XMM 8.0.0.17 and this worked but at the point that XMM should start comes the message:
There is a problem with your Windows XMM cannot perform operations with Administrator rights, please run eXtreme Movie Manager in windows XP sp3 Compatibility mode.

Posted - 07 Oct 2012 : 12:33:43 I have about 8400 movies. I'm not showing thumbnail view, I'm showing the grid view and the html datacard I'm using is Simplecard |

Posted - 06 Oct 2012 : 02:25:34 Yes, this memory usage is after the conversion; Right now, I'm importing data from a script and the usage is 1.213.860.
I'm using W7 64b. |

Posted - 05 Oct 2012 : 22:27:39 This after the conversion is during "normal" use of XMM?
I mean, if you close and reopen XMM again what memory usage do you have?
Thank you,
Ale |

Posted - 05 Oct 2012 : 22:25:55 Finally, it took me 15 hours!! By the way, the memory usage of XMM8 is a lot higher than XMM7. (840.000 KB XMM8) |

Posted - 05 Oct 2012 : 15:11:02 Its better because if you re-import all your collection again XMM will populate your People's database from scratch, with all links and information. You will have a clean People's database instead of import it from XMM 7 (That was not good) |

Posted - 05 Oct 2012 : 14:09:42 The Import did work. Why it's better not to import the actors? |
Alessio Viti |
Posted - 05 Oct 2012 : 09:35:05 Yes, the import is a big slow, because XMM have to recreate all the connections between the new tables. |

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 17:40:29 Just open XMM8, Open database and select your OLD db, XMM will convert automatically and will make a copy.

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 17:25:02 The original DB isn't changed. The newly created will be stored in ProgramData\BinaryWorks\eXtremeMovieManager8\databases. What's the best way depends on your database. I import always my complete database inclusive the actors. That lasts about 1 hour. But as more TVShows are in your db it will last longer and longer. For me there are less than 150 Shows. So it's okay. But as always, just test it. Prinz as example needs many hours for his database... Importing without the actors will speed up the conversion but you have to import all actors again what will need hours, too. |

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 14:43:53 What is now the right way to get my XMM 7 database in XMM 8 (without changing the original XMM 7 database)? |

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 14:30:24 Ahhh, thanks I think that helped. Now I have to get my XMM 7 database in. |

Posted - 04 Oct 2012 : 14:22:56 Delete your example database in ProgramData and reinstall XMM once more. I hope that this will help. |
