If you use the actor tab, select an actor, right click and select "Quick import with default script" you get
1)a window saying initialising script
2) an error message saying "File is not an avi" (which is not really surprising as you are tying to import stuff for an actor!!)
3) Clear teh window and click 'Import actor with default script' and you get 'File not an avi' again
4) select a script and import works fine
