Posted - 15 Nov 2004 : 13:57:48 Hello ...
I hope someone can help me ... (I am running 2.9b4) I have a large(ish) database with over 50,000 actors but only 2000 movies.
The database itself takes a very long time, up to 5 minutes to load in EMM.
If a previous database had already been loaded then the actor list in the large database doesn't refresh automatically on load - it has to be refreshed manually.
Also when accessing the actors and asking for an import it takes a similar time to load the import function. Then when it has loaded the import it won't work. I can select an actor to import request either a selected or default script but prompts with "You must select at least ONE actor" even though I already have done so.
I think there is possibly something corrupted in the database so I tried to build a new one by exporting info and loading again - however I can't export the actor list as it doesn't appear to be available in the export function.
Other smaller databases work fine - so I think it isn't the software unless of course there is a problem with number of records that are being read.
The signs I think point to a corrupted table in the database, please could you advise.
Thanks in advance.

Posted - 17 Nov 2004 : 13:50:52 Hi,
You are right, XMM takes a long time for load the Actor's database.
I am trying some solution for this problem, I think that I can improve speed a bit.
Can you please ZIP your db and send it to me? So i can make tests in a "real" database.
Thank you!
