Posted - 21 Jan 2012 : 18:32:26 I just downloaded and installed 7.2.1.4 a few days ago. This strange thing happens on occasion. It seems to happen after I run a script to import movie or TV series information (I use the IMDB scripts). However, it doesn't happen all the time. It started happening only after I installed 7.2.1.4.
After I import the movie or TV information from IMDB using the script, I click on the "Save/Exit" button (in the ADD/EDIT Show Information window). The information is added OK into the database.
However, then XMM acts as if there is a modal window open somewhere - either off screen or beneath the main XMM window, or hidden. In any case, what happens is that XMM does not respond to anything. Whenever I click anywhere on the XMM window I get the Windows "ding" sound - as if there is a modal window open and I am supposed to click on something in that window. I try pressing the Enter key, with the assumption that maybe if it is a hidden window the OK button has the focus, but that does not change anything.
The only thing I can do is open Task Manager and end the XMM process.
Then when I re-open XMM all works OK. |

Posted - 26 Jan 2012 : 14:29:41 I think the problem is that before press the QuickEdit button you have to click on a Movie in the Grid... This because probably the last item you clicked was an actor... |

Posted - 25 Jan 2012 : 19:55:07 It just happened again with the new Version 7.2.1.5.
I clicked on the Quick-Button-Reimport Button on a Movie and a Actor Import Dialog opened. I had to restart XMM, after the restart the Quick-Button-Reimport open correctly the Movie-Import Dialog. |

Posted - 22 Jan 2012 : 19:24:53 Good to know. I forgot which Windows you were using. I'll do some more testing. |

Posted - 22 Jan 2012 : 17:07:57 The problem Prinz explained is already for a while on the bug list. I have reminded Ale on that a few days before the first post in here. quote: I'm just testing a few of the bugs. This a one you have marked as resolved but it isn't. 1. Switch to Actors database in grid 2. Select one of the movies in database of the actor. In my example a tv series 3. Open the update manager [The update manager now shows the import list of tv series] 4. Click on the button Import Actors [Go on like normal import] 5. After searching for the actors AND finding them occurs the bug: The actualizing window is behind the normal XMM window showing "Initializing Engine" forever. When you want to stop the import you get the message that it must be at least one movie selected for import. After a while you are able to close the import window with the close gadget. Before you are able to close sometimes occurs the message that you first have to stop the import that leads you back to the no selected movie message.
Creating a new database doesn't produce any error on my pc (XP-Pro). I think it's Win7 related as I have tested it about 10 times. |

Posted - 21 Jan 2012 : 19:39:41 On a second issue with this release - When creating a new database, you will get error messages. You get This database is not compatible. Error point 8. The location of the database then -2147467259 [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Not a valid bookmark. If you click okay the program continues until you get the message Unhandled exception occurred in you application. If you click continue, the program locks up and you have to restart. When you do you get the last database you were working on and if you go to open database it's not listed, however if you browse for it, it's listed and you can open it and continue.
This happens on both the upgrade install and full new install. I've even installed using admin rights and regular under Win 7. This might have doing this before this release just haven't build new databases until now. |

Posted - 21 Jan 2012 : 19:26:20 Thank you. I had a problem with using the TV IMDB script. It kept thinking it was a movie and tried to use the complete script. I thought it was something I was doing wrong.
I'm not sure how to explain this one but if I'm working in one database and I open another, I've noticed the actors from the first are displaying in the second. The first 5 or 6 and you get view their information with the actors card. If you shut the program down and restart they aren't there anymore. It's like they are stuck in memory. I'm not really sure it's a program issue or something else or if the two are related. |

Posted - 21 Jan 2012 : 18:53:29 I have a similar problem from time to time. I have to close XMM sometimes via the task manager because the program is internally in the wrong category (For Example: I'm trying to import an Actor and the Movie import Window opens)
I can't stop to import or do anything because a Dialog (object error or something like that) is open hidden behind the import Window. |
