Hello Alessio,
there was a similar topic some time ago but I can't find it at the moment.
The problem: Pictures were "compressed" during the import into the cover manager.
Example: I imported a cover that has 2530619 Bytes (~2.41 MB). After import into cover manager the picture has only 1560227 Bytes. This is pretty much.
The request: I want to have "untouched" pictures after import. That means only renaming, no compression and - I haven't tested it until now - no deletion of tags (IPTC).

After unchecking the irfanview option covers remain "untouched".

Hi Mawu,
Sorry, I have forget an option that is already inside XMM.
In the configuration there is a checkbox called "use irfanview for convert images". If you uncheck it XMM should not resize and compress the images.

I can try to make an option in the configuration window for do that...
These pictures are bmp or jpeg?
