Hi there, recently got this software after trialing it.

XMM is crashing when using the scripts to import the movie data from websites. I do not get any errors other than Windows saying the program has stopped responding.

I am running it in compatibility mode for XP3 with Admin privilages on Windows 7 X64 Beta 1.

Any suggestions or ideas of what might be causing it?

Many thanks.

You should start a new thread for this issue...Right click on the shortcut on your desktop to start the app and select "runas" administrator and I bet it will work.
Vista is a piece of junk....make sure you preorder a copy of Windows 7 now or go back to XP!
Runas Administrator should work for you. If not start a new thread with your specs and we can help ya

XMM always crashes during an internet update of a movie. I tried it with several scripts but every time I select a link for a movie the preview in the lower left corner of the window starts to load the website and XMM is closed.

I'm using XMM on Vista SP2 32bit with IE 8 in the Win XP SP2 compatibility mode. Vista is closing XMM because of the Data Execution Prevention but I can't deactivate the DEP for XMM.

Any solutions?

Its not actually a crash, its a script issue, and yes I checked ignore warning. Anyway, the problem was in producer, writer and music field with IMDB script (IMDB has every movie I need). I need only important information about a movie like director, actors, year, genre etc. I went field by field and found a delay in sections mentioned above. So I tried updating this sections with moviedb script, and it worked excellent. So now i use IMDB for title, director, actors, year, rating, country and plot, moviedb for producer, writer and music, and movieposterdb for covers. It works great now, consider this resolved. Thanks for the effort.
PS This is the best program I've used for organizing movies. Great work.

Hi Guys,

This is "normal", it's not a "crash" of the software! It's only a warning that script cannot found something in the HTML Page.

Please check the ignore warning and let me know,

Alessio

Did you try to click on the ignore warning check box? It should continue to update the fields that it can....and the program just hangs on you...it doesn't actually crash .....correct?
The program may become unresponsive if it is waiting for user input, but that is not considered a crash :-)
I have seen issues in the past where it appears to hang when it can't access the page because of network saturation too.

Same here, it keeps crashing no matter which movie I choose to update. I've left the program running for about 20 min, and then i got this message (although program has finished updating the movie):

Hi! I'm running Vista and getting the same crash . Using the import wizard whether 1 movie or 200 it runs to IMDB and crashes upon return, no warning or anything. I am able to import 1 movie at a time with the F6 option but not bulk entry. EMM 7

The same problem when trying to update actors in batch mode from IMDB (Actors); randomly crash but Windows don't report any error. XMM crashes and that's all.

Those steps are correct, it is crashing when it is getting the information from IMDB after selecting which links to use. I may have the wrong name for the window though. It has "Update from the internet" in the top right.

Once the links have been chosen it crashes when taking the information from IMDB or Amazon.

Thank you for the picture.

The strange thing is that I cannot see the "Import Window". I mean, the Download Manager is downloading from aka.imdb.com, but there is no "import window".

I try to resume your steps:

1)you select 5 movies in grid

2)you press the "quick update selected" button in the toolbar

3)have you select the directlinks of movies? I mean, XMM has crashed after you have select all directlinks or before that phase?
