For no reason at all that I can see XMM stopped working. It has happened before on another computer (see previous forum posting) and I followed the instructions there deleting the registery entries. This however did not solve it. I get an error that simply says that it will not run. This is a Windows error and not an XMM error. XMM will not launch nor will it rebuild the preferences. There are no registry entries after launching. I tried 6.7 B4 and that will not run either. 4.8 b1 installs and launches.

I am running the most current net framework (3.5 sp1) (installed after the crashes but tested with new installs) and on Vista (run as administrator and in XP compatability mode). I can not get the new installs to run. I do not think there are any conflicts with other software. I can not figure out what is wrong and I think I may have lost all data. I see no other entries so this is a unique problem, I suppose.
