Or am I expecting too much?

I have many TV shows (around 50 shows with multiple seasons). I have always had problems with correctly importing TV shows - or maybe I am expecting too much?

First off I have 1400 movies in EMM so am no stranger to the way the movie side works.

I will use LOST as an example. I have a folder called lost, then within that folder, season folders, in this case S1, S2, S3 and S4. Each of the season folders contains the episodes for that season. File names vary but always contain Lost, Season, episode number, episode title.

I can import in two ways, either from the internet but there is no file information. Or import from the hard drive but then I have no episode information. How do I get them to meet in the middle so I have the episode and file information on one record. It does not appear to work as the film import works.

Am I expecting too much and I have to manually manipulate every episode with the necessary file information?

Does anyone have this working where an import is done from the hard drive then an automated internet lookup is done to find that episode (or series)?

I love the movie side of EMM as far as I am concerned the TV side has never worked properly. Lastly for whatever reason I cannot play the instruction videos on any machine I have tried even with the codec.

Frustrated.....

Hi Laffer,

I have wait before answer you because I want be sure the procedure and XMM work correctly.

This is the procedure (I have test it just now with 3 episodes of LOST).

1.I have add LOST TVShow on XMM

2.I have import from HD 3 episodes of first season.

3.I have select LOST Season and I have open the MagicScript import engine to import the information about LOST.

4.I have use the TV.COM Script, I have select the LOST TV Shows and I have select the 3 first episodes of the first season (I mean the "PILOT 1", "PILOT 2" and "Tabula Rasa" episodes).

With this procedure XMM is able to put the information imported from internet in the right episodes.

Please let me know!

Alessio

Ok, I have managed to get the video tutorial working. It seems what I want is not in EMM.

I want the same functionality as Movies. Import from disk, but then to get the TV show/episode info from the internet.

If this is how it's supposed to work, can someone please post proper instructions - thanks.

Lastly, if the above is correct (Cannot lookup once imported) You need to work on this Alessio. The way it currently works is not worth having.
