Posted - 15 Jul 2007 : 03:26:26 Hello,
since the update to 5.8.4.0 Deluxe I cannot import anything from the web because all scripts are gone. Please help ! Also, XMM would not close anymore, I need to kill the task with the task manager. I'm using XMM since 2006 and it worked quite well for me till now.
thank you Cyana |

Posted - 16 Jul 2007 : 18:20:26 Hello watre,
thank you very much for your help ! This time it worked, it seems there is something wrong when you update or overinstall an existing version with 5.8.4.0 (BTW - I've always used the full 10MB version file). I first had to uninstall the previous version, and then install the full 5.8.4.0 version. On first launch, a window pops up and claims it cannot find the path to C:\Windows\Programme\eXtreme Movie Manager and asks you to point to the path where XMM is installed. You however MUST NOT DO SO, but point to the additional XMM path in your Documents folder. So this is quite confusing and should be fixed.
again, thank you for your help and patience ! Cyana |

have a look at this topic, it could help you.

Anyway, you must make a full install of the 5.8.4.0, not an update.

Posted - 16 Jul 2007 : 16:50:26 I've uninstalled XMM and reinstalled 5.5.1.0, and it worked. After updating to 5.8.4.0, again same problem occured. Very nasty. Seems this version has a bad flaw. |

Posted - 16 Jul 2007 : 16:14:37 Hello watre,
thank you very much for your reply. I did what you suggested, however it did not cure the problem. I also tried to restore the standard configuration, but this also did not help.
thank you very much Cyana |

Posted - 16 Jul 2007 : 01:45:28 Hi cyana,
I see that le folder used is "C:\Programme\eXtreme Movie Manager". Since several versions, the folder MUST be "My documents\eXtreme Movie Manager". You should copy the whole folder "C:\Programme\eXtreme Movie Manager" into "My documents" (or similar in german). Let me know if that solves your problem, normally it should do.

Posted - 15 Jul 2007 : 17:03:24 I've made a screenshot:

As you can see, XMM seems to look into a different folder for the scripts - I however have not found a way to change the default folder. |

Posted - 15 Jul 2007 : 16:50:37 Hello watre,
Thank you for your reply. I don't know which version I've used before, it however should have been the preceding one as I use XMM regulary and updated each time when an update was announced by XMM. I'm using XP Professional SP2.
BTW, also the html skins for viewing the DVD infos don't work anymore. I've looked into the XMM folders, the skins and protocolls are there. However, when I want to select a protocoll or skin within XMM, the folder comes up empty.
thank you very much Cyana |

Posted - 15 Jul 2007 : 15:21:25 Hi cyana,
what version did you use before installing the 5.8.4.0 ?
What is your operating system (XP, Vista) ?
