Second, my machine is rock solid stable - I have many apps on my computer including games - all run fine.
1. Trying to import TV series from hard drive is very unstable (as in never works) all sorts of errors appear
refering to JIT, debuggers, corrupted memory, File Scanner unhandled exception etc. Then typically a crash. The hard
drive I am reading from is network connected by the way (on a RAID server).
In general the "Add TV Shows" then "Lookup Hard Disk" option seems very unstable.
2. After updating codec info for a film, the media icon does not change (from DivX to Xvid for example) it does on a
restart.
3. After updating codec info for a film, the blue Play button is no longer displayed when that film is selected (even
after a restart).
Comments & Questions: You should also have an "Update All" function where EMM just goes through all the film files it has in it's database
to update file inforamtion (including what codec). You could perhaps have this as a tickbox option on the missing
files section.
For TV specifically I still think some more flexibility is required in the parsing. Some of my series are named in
the following fashion:
AT206 - Trinity.avi
AT - Stargate Atlantis. 2 - Series 2. 06 - Episode 6. Trinity - Episode Name. avi - the file extension (obviously).
I also have files like: AT1e11.avi Similar to the above but with an E to denote episode number, also note - no epsiode name.
Then I also have the following formats too........ lost.s01e05.avi VG.3x12.macrocosm.avi Star Trek Enterprise [1x10] Fortunate Son.avi Ent.2x09.avi 4400.1e03.avi Stargate SG-1 [2x03] Prisoners.avi Stargate SG1 S09E11 - The fourth Horseman Part 2.avi SG1.s8e03.avi
All told I have over 1000 episodes of TV. It would sure be easier for me if EMM had an intelligent configurable
parser rather than going trough them all to rename them.
Lastly - do you intend to implement a "Preferred Player" option as you in 4.x? I really miss this feature (and you
cannot re-create it through file association in windows either).
At the moment I still use 4.7 but will continually download 5.x every few versions to test.
Thanks,
Laffer. |
