Ok, something is VERY wrong here.
I'm not exactly sure when it happens yet, but every now and then a title will have dissapared from the list. It happens when I insert a bunch (burning a full dvd, with 6 films) and when I'm finally done inserting the last one, I find the 2 first ones are missing and I have to insert them again. After the 2nd time of inserting them, they will stay.
I add them one by one, by reading the files, and pressing 'save & exit'. I usually have EMM displaying by 'DVDid/Title' when I add. Can it possibly be something about the number of titles I have? It's now 2333.
I know it's very difficult for you to find this error, unless I find exactly when/what makes it happen, but I thought I'd post to let you know about it anyway, and I can give further info when I learn more. |

This is happening more and more. DAMN annoying.
These are some titles that I have had to enter twice:
Red Rock West Amityville 6 - It's About Time (1992) Patch Adams Combat Shock
Can't really see any similarity in the names that might've done it, so I'm pretty sure it is simply because of the sheer amount of films. It's now up to 2421. There has to be some coding error around that has to be fixed FAST, or I can't use this program any longer. |

Yes, I have noticed several times that with Add Mass DVD that some movies vanished... No problem with Mass Files Add. And when I use Mass DVD Options, the labels of dvd isn't imported in the movie's informations. |

I've noticed the same problem when I add movies one by one and use the "Read Files" option. It seems like it doesn't save properly some times but I haven't been able to figure out exactly when/why |

Yes when I rebuild a new database to enter properly informations about all my movie, I have inserted the first time 150 movies. And the day after, when I open XMM, I have lost around 5-6 movies...

Did anyone notice this error beofre, or is it perhaps just in this new 2.7 version?
If so I'd appreciate if the previous version was made availible for download again.
But I suspect Alessio Viti is gone on holyday or something? |

Sorry Guys very much for my late reply!!!
The problem should be that a field is not filled correctly, this is why some movies aren't showed up.
Please, open the "Database Manager", select your DB and press the "Rebuild" button, this should fix all problems.
BEFORE do that, someone ZIP and send to me the DB, so I can better understand where is the problem.
Anyway : the problem is only with the MASS DVD and Read Files procedure, right?
Thank you and sorry again to all of you!

Hi Alessio,
I don't know if it's linked to this bug but with mass dvd, if the file name of the movie contained ' we have an error message but the movie is added... Maybe this is this bug that vanishes movies...

Nope. Checked and found the ones that were dissapearing are in several different codecs (divx3,divx5, xvid) |

I've noticed that the titles that are dissapearing are ones that were recently added. For example when I add movie nr. 2951 maybe 2950 will dissapear.
Might it perhaps have something to do whith the .mpg bug? I'm referring to the fact that if you try to 'read' an mpg, EMM will freeze that file, and you can't delete it untill you've shut down EMM. |

I've had this problem on different occasions but have never been able to figure out exactly when it happens until now. When I go thru these steps then it always happens.
1) I add a movie for example "TEST 1" by opening up the "Add/Edit Movie Information..." window, click the "Read files", select one (or more) files to be read and click "Read ALL Selected Files". Then I save that movie by clicking "Save" button. 2) I click the "New" button to add another movie. 3) I switch back to the programs "main window" (but leave the "Add/Edit Movie Information..." window open in the background) and make one change in any movie in the database and click the "Save" button (in the main program window). 4) I switch back to the "Add/Edit Movie Information..." window, click the "Read files", select one (or more) files to be read and click "Read ALL Selected Files". Then I save that movie "TEST 2" by clicking "Save/Exit" button. 5) Now the first movie "TEST 1" that I added is missing from the database but the movie "TEST 2" is there.
There might be other circumstances that movies are disappearing but this is the only way that I've been able to recreate it. I hope this helps you find the bug

| Yeah, I've been suspecting it had something to do with switching back to the main program, while having the 'add new' window still open... And I guess maybe something to do with reading more than one files as well then...? |

I presume then it's just a case of the second movie overwriting the first movie.
Why would you leave the 'add new' window open anyway? |
