Hi,

... some addition to my earlier post:

have done a few more import trials. My main problem appears to be, that for most of the movies I have on my 'New' list with titles only there is no website immediately to be found. The best I get is
(1) a page with a list containing my special movie title, often the film is only found if I
(2) move on to 'Show all xxx matching titles'
or not at all - only with some titles, changing them does help. My trials were mostly with IMDB.COM, btw.

My questions:
A.
I thought case (1) would be handled within (most of ?) the scripts? Shouldn't #Createmovielist# collect titles from the list if present and show them for me to select from? I have seen such a selection-list only when running a script in debug, step-by-step.

B.
What can one do with movies case (2) where there is no immediate hit or the title is not listed on page 1? What do others do? (a few titles seem to fall into this category, e.g. 'The Stand', 'The 39 steps' ...)

C.
On the Script editor window, there's a (text)box on top, with a biggish 'e' (for the IE browser?) button on the right hand side. What are these for? Clicking the 'e' button doesn't seem to do anything, the box is empty.

Thanks for hints

@tbrandl

Do you search with the german movie titels or with the original titel? With the german titel I couldn`t find anything with the IMDB scripts (only with the ODFB scripts). You should always use the original name for IMDB search (configurable in the "engine options").

Hi to all,

As mawu wrote, you should use the original title for import movie information of german titles. A good script for take it is the OFDB.

If the import is very slow, please check if there are firewalls that block access to web!

About your questions :

A) you mean that with the editor the list of movies is complete and with XMM no? This is really strange because the engine is the same.

B) For do this we must change the Script, because all script takes the titles of the first page, not for the next.

C) This button in the Editor isn't active. In the XMM this button open an explorer window of the movie selected on the list, so you can see it
before "double click" for import.

Hi,

firstly, thanks for the answers.

I have had some success, finally. Don't really know the reasons for my difficulties, will have to do more tests.

There were times when - like I have described - nothing happened after starting an import. The ScriptEngine window had some of the red messages blinking (like 'processing information') but otherwise the Download progress window was staying empty as was the monitor window. No results, this kind of process appears to never end.

Yesterday, out of the blue, it suddenly started downloading. But it did stop again with my next attempt to download, and started again only after I had closed and reopened the application. Strange ... I can't replicate this at will, looks somewhat unpredictable.

As to movie titles - I'm aware of the Original vs. foreign title issue. Some of the German titles could be found, other's couldn't. For these I have changed websites successfully.

Question A)
No, I didn't get to see any kind of list to select from. Seems there was nothing downloaded at all, with the editor open or not.

If the program continues working, I'll certainly register. Looks like one of the most useful programs I have ever seen.

Regards

Tilman

Hi,

Yes, in the (x)HTML-DB you cannot select the fields, you can do it only with the Third-Party software made by MemTronic (is inside the registered user's area).

Sorry,

OK thats no problem but what about BoxID, i mean we are numbering our database after this boxid. Its important that it is exported with the movies...
