Your help file says:
The CONSTANT #MOVIE# contains directly the movie you are looking for, you can use this in any part of the script.
I have tried to use this in an #OPENNEWWEB# statement but it doesn't work...gives an error.
I have tried to do like this:

The variable #50# get this value:

Looking like you got lots do do, I was reading some of the forums here and I noticed CortexWave's suggestions and totally agree with them!! would be sweet to be able to sort series and have them listed too. For now Im more than happy with listing my movies but since I got lots of series as well it would make sence to start listing them sooner than later.
Usually im full of ideas, but this program is so full of the goodness that it will take me a while to get a handle of all of it before I can bring ideas to you guys. But I guess I could start of by tellin "you" guys (now I dont know if you are working together on the program or if you are doing totally seperate things) to replace the readme file in the main dir of the program since divxmanager is kinda outdated :)
Also, I dont know how tough it would be, but it would be cool if it were possible to make somesort of a wizard that made purplebyte cards. Then the cards you have could be templates but the wizard would change colors and possibly fields. I dont think that would classify as "raping", but on the contrary would probably reduce the socalled raping of your cards since people wouldn not have any need to look into the code.
Anyway, keep up the good work!!

Like I said first... thats really the only one that I need, can you hook up that one? I was trying: mLocation, but that didnt work. Its a field in the "Extra" area. :)

...and I really think about handling all future updates to HTML-DB the same way!
THIS MEANS = NOTHING BUNDLED WITH eMM-Free in future!
EVERYBODY HAS TO DOWNLOAD HTML-DB OVER "REGISTERED" AREA!!!
...hope a lot of people start thinking about what they are doing by using a cracked version of a 10,- bucks "expensive" app!
GUYS... THERE IS NO ARGUMENT LEFT TO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP!!!
...AND WHY SHOULD WE (all developers) KICK PEOPLES' ASS WHO PAY FOR IT!?

Sounds good to me.. Looks like I hit the spot on the movie cards wizard :)... why not make a "addon" to eMM... purple wizard, which you could sell for $$... well... maybe that wont work since people are 2 cheep to buy the eMM they probably wont buy purple wizard addon, but hey... make a home page where people can design their own purple cards and sell adds too it!!! you could possibly advertize eMM hehe :)
otherwize I would be totally happy with you putting your stuff on the regestered users area since "/me is a regestered user"... however you do it is fine with me :) just more cards :)
About peps not buying the software, I guess I could put a few words of caution (not that you guys dont know this) but since I def dont buy all the software that I use Im pretty good at finding ways around that... what I would reccomend Alessio to do is make lots and lots of builds with different key codes so that it cant be cracked. Thats what some companys do is just make enough builds so that crackers cant keep up and users cant just go to a page and download the crack for the current build. Im very happy to have bought this program on the other hand and think this to be an excellant way to support a brilliant programer that hit the spot for me. Hopefully more people will register the program cause its worth so much more than $10, and as you said... for future cards and developments as well... its only 10 bucks!!
(btw my god.. it just started hailing out side and its the biggest hail I have ever seen... its like 1cm around!! I reached out the window to get one... and it hurt!!)
Well, enough of the sidetrack.... what I was wondering was what I was wondering to start of with... the #6 as you put it...:

(I was young once at a time also and really know the "real" arguments to not buy)
1. You are building a demo / web-site and used a cracked app for 1.500,- to do the nice 3D-GFX for it...
__ afterwards you really had no further usage for this app...
__ BUT REALLY... I am talking about a time where FREEWARE was rare or very bad!
__ NOWADAYS = I am using a lot of HARDCORE-QUALITY FREEWARE!!!
2. I played a lot of games as school-kid but really HAD NO CHANCE to get all the necessary money for them!
__ NOWADAYS I really have not that much time to play and (I swear) BUY EVERY GAME I PLAY!
3. You have a 199,- app you are using very seldom and only in special cases. => No 30 days TRIAL of this app exists!
SO = we come to a general rule:
a. If you like it and use it regularly = BUY IT!
__ if it still is too expensive for you = LOOK FOR AN ALTERNATIVE app!
b. If you don't want to pay the developers = DON'T USE THEIR WORK!
...and just to underline point 1. (I am using for developing):
FREE Browser: Mozilla / Netscape 7 / IE 6 (really no need to have a cracked opera)
Free HTML Editor: HTML-Kit (really no need to have a cracked dreamweaver or homesite)
Free 3D Prog: Raja (really no need to have a cracked 3D-Studio / Maya)
Free GFX Prog: JPhotoBrush (really no need to have a cracked PhotoShop)
Even in the "office" section you can crap hardcore freeware nowadays!
...and so on and on and on...
An as a real-programmer talking to you better believe me that:
A lot of those freeware-developers once will become (or are already)
"I earn my salary with that" developers!
...and the end-effekt is/will be:
YOU ARE KICKING PEOPLES' ASS WHO HAVE PROVIDED YOU REAL QUALTY APPS FOR FREE or LOW-PRICE!
in clear words = YOU ARE SCRATCHING ON THE ROOT OF A VERY BIG TREE!!!
10,- Bucks for something you use regularly = IS ALL BUT SURE NOT EXPENSIVE!
...and all who already have registerd:
what's currently happening with eMM is just a proof for you that you have made the right decision and that it will be honored!

Tried a few things but its just showing the code that i grabbed from an old moviecard.

Yes HTML-DB export the only thing i can find for it is <b>_TMOVIE_WEBLINK_</b></td>

MemTronic: Full respect for all your reasons for not using cracked appz. I agree with you, but I have still not bought all my appz and very possibly like you said am I scratching the root of a very large tree. I did however buy this app so no worries about that (kinda got the feeling you thought I had not done so) :)
All I was saying was make lots of builds so that it will be tougher to crack!! I know its a pain in the ars but it works pretty good if peps can never find a crack that fits the version thats online now.
didnt you like my idea about making a website that made purplebyte cards that you could sell advertizements on? you got to start making some money :)

I only want to make clear what consequences this "game" WILL HAVE / ALREADY HAS for ALL USERS!
As every freware/shareware/low-price developer has his reasons to do so...
...every user has his reasons to act in the way he does...
Everyone has to decide for himself = if he looks for a "balance" or RIPS EVERYTHING he is able to get his hands on.
BUT everyone better takes in consideration = at the end HE ONLY HARMS HIMSELF by RIPPING EVERYTHING!
If the point will be reached where NO developer is able to make a living from his work = he NATURALLY will switch to something else!!!
SO = there simply WILL BE LESS software someone is able to ripp!
...and I am (as professional) see more and more young developers
switching to the research-area = NO CHANCE FOR "normal" users TO GET THEIR HANDS ON!!!
BELIEVE ME: the sandwatch is already puring!!!!!!!!
...and I personally have switched to the business-sector a long time ago!
(it's often very boring but well payed!!!)

Like I said in my last reply, I do understand your point and I am not saying that you are incorrect, but all I was saying is that since it is a FACT, that lots of people are doing this... maybe you guys should consider making lots of builds to reduce the amount of loss that comes from these acts (which surely are immoral and will reduce the amount of software/freware that will be developed). Im not arguing your point, but merely pointing out a way for you guys to reduce the amount of abuse for you guys.

Akira: Not that I know much about this, though I do know a little, are you talking about exporting the "web link" field under the "details tab"?
If thats what you are talking about, you probably just need a movie card with that field in it, but looking at the fields that MemTronic pasted earlyer in this conversation... it doesnt look like its in yet (just like my location field). You'll need to ask for that field added to the program and then it will be possible to adjust one of the fields in one of MemTronics cards to display that instead of one of the other fields that it has (same thing as I wanted to do with my locations). Or maybe memtronic thinks this to be a good Idea and will make a card with that field in it...

We have written down all possible info-fields, picked the ones we thought are usefull for export...
and the RESULT = the LIST I have posted in this thread!

BUT a lot of other people simply get a very easy way for misuse!

I could see it to be a more useful link than some of the ones on the cards already. just a link to the homepage of imdb's site for the movie... well, there might be some things I dont know, whatever you were saying about ripping and boards, didnt get that part.. seems like an innocent request to me to have the link to the home page of the movie.
Even though you see more usefullness in the stuff that you put on the cards, some people have special needs (for example my location need)..., and full respect if you know of some way for this to be abused by making some option available... dont let it be available.

You can currently export the OFFICIAL website for a film (which was not listed)
Using: _MOVIE_OFFICIALWEB_
(It does it in the All information Movie card) I was only asking because it meant that people could find out where the information about the movie came from.
Also you can find other movies you might like (Amazon does an "If you liked this movie you may like the following") I enjoy watching films.. My friends enjoy watching films.. It means we can find more films we enjoy.. I am sorry you took offence to my question. |

HTML-DB provides a FAST and "as much info as possible AT ONCE" OVERLOOK over your collection!
