Sono un collezionista compulsivo  di film e da molti anni utilizzo XMM (la versione 7, secondo me la più completa ed affidabile).
Sono però da tempo alla ricerca di una alternativa, anche a pagamento.
Ho provato i vari All my movie, Movie collector, Movienizer, Ant movie, EMDB, ma nessuno ha tutte le opzioni che aveva XMM.
EMDB mi pareva il migliore ed avevo iniziato ad utilizzarlo, ma sui grandi archivi ha alcuni bug molto pericolosi.
Che programma usate voi oggi per gestire in sicurezza un grosso database con migliaia di titoli? |

Anche io come voi ne ho provati parecchi e alla fine la mia scelta finale e caduta su EMDB che ormai utilizzo da diversi anni. Ora io non so cosa intendete per archivio di grosse dimensioni ma io non ho mai avuto nessun problema. Certo qualche problemino qua Ela ma nulla di veramente grave e che comunque è stato prontamente sistemato dallo sviluppatore che si è sempre mostrato disponibile, competente e molto attento. Bene, ho testato molti database di film. Ma non c'è davvero niente che sembra essere nella stessa strada di XMM.
Se solo Ale aggiornasse il downloader nel suo MagicScript Engine. I pochi bug all'interno del prog stesso - posso conviverci.
Forse Ale dovrebbe rendere open source questo fantastico programma per trovare almeno qualcuno disposto ad aggiornare.
Well, I have tested many movie databases. But there is really nothing tat seems to be in the same street as XMM.
If only Ale would update the downloader in his MagicScript Engine. The few Bugs within the prog itself - I can live with them.
Maybe Ale should make this great program open source of at least find someone willing to update/fix his code... |

If there really were alternatives to XMM, we probably wouldn't be active in this forum anymore. In addition to XMM, Movie Collector is the most mature program on the market for me and one of the few that is still being actively developed. However, I think the program is completely overpriced. In addition, the head of the company was completely unsympathetic to me when there was still a product forum. That's why I always stayed with XMM - currently in version 9. As a DVD/Bluray/4k UHD collector, I still use the DVD Profiler, which has also not seen an update for years. |
